The best routes to take are to research the process of starting a business as well as the industry you're interested in.

I recommend checking out the SBA, Entrepreneur, The Start Up Journal & Nolo. All 4 are great informational resources for the new/small business owner. I posted links for you in the source box.

Associations may be a good avenue to explore. These organizations will address many of the thoughts, questions and concerns you'll inevitably have as well as many you haven't anticipated yet. See the source box for some relevant links.

Research, research, research – this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can about the industry. Here are some book titles that are relevant:

* How to Start a Home Based Travel Agency by Tom Ogg, Joanie Ogg,
* Start Your Own Specialty Travel & Tour Business by Entrepreneur Press
* Start Your Own Travel Agency by Adam Starchild
* Home-Based Travel Agent, 5th Edition by Kelly Monaghan

I also posted links to some free articles in the source box.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

Take a look at how I do my psychic business from home.

Then see if you can fit something similar around your own area of expertise in Travel. (About $300 will get you started.)

Then all you need is a passion, some persistence, and you know that old fashioned word - w.o.r.k. http://www.psychic-junkie.com/are-you-psychic.html

Start small. Try contacting your local Chamber of Commerce and develop a City Tour for incoming tourists, out of town company, etc. They might even help with a vehicle to use. So many towns have no such business and need it! Would also give you opportunities to hone your people skills.

Get a travel and tourism degree from a junior college. It teaches how to book flights, world destinations, and much more. Most states require that you be licensed and bonded since you will be collecting money.
