Yes, there is a very loose relationship between IQ and schizophrenia, at least. They say the higher your IQ, the less likely you are to develop schizophrenia in the first place, and the better your treatment outcomes, once diagnosed.

i would have to say "yes".

i have a fairly normal "IQ", however, i can be pretty darned brilliant concerning things of enjoyable nature...

mental health diseases are caused by many different factors.
i grew up with a virus and it caused me to be a difficult/slow learner, however, when i enjoyed a subject, i did quite well.

in my case, HCV was the culprit and it changed the chemistry in the brain. i still suffer from hcv brain fog (not depression, although at times it can make me really sad because some days i do not drive it's so bad, or i am scatter brained and forgetful).
The virus passes the blood brain barrier and since the liver is affected, the toxins it was unable to filter or process ended up floating around up there.

So, yes, IQ is affected by mental health, but.... mental health is affected by illness. So your question should be:

Is one's IQ level dependent on how healthy or unhealthy a person is?

Answer: Yes.

I would further like to state here, that "Wisdom" is probably the best route to a great IQ.

A person can be "book" smart, but that doesn't mean they understand the full concept of the subject.

hi, 50 is really youthful for Alzheimer's, even with the undeniable fact that this is not not available that someone would commence to teach indications at that age. i do not understand what unusual things you've observed about your sister in regulation's behaviour, yet early dementia has a tendency to first reason problems with forgetfulness and situation searching words. bear in mind that rigidity, melancholy, an infection, intoxication and numerous different issues may reason human beings to develop into perplexed too. The 'counting backwards' job yet another poster has stated is portion of the 'mini psychological state exam' this is used to target for dementia. The counting section tests a persons' concentration, yet there are countless different aspects to the try; can someone bear in mind particular issues they have been advised, can they maintain on with verbal and written instructions, are they oriented to the time, position and date, etc. The try could accept through a persons' GP or yet another psychological well being professional, or perhaps then it would not conclusively teach the presence of a dementia. From what you're saying, it type of feels that the youngsters in desire crew of social amenities were in contact along with your sister. in the journey that they haven't any concerns about her newborn, they received't preserve an involvement including her, as they'd in ordinary words be in contact to substantiate her parenting is adequate. If she desires help from social amenities contained in the destiny, it is going to likely be from a diverse crew. in case you sense that there's a situation which isn't causing instant danger to existence and limb, all you could do is inspire her to visit her GP back. no matter if it really is Alzheimer's the faster the clinical care begins, the further constructive the right result. good success!
