I have acobat/adobe reader ver. 7. But when I try to open these file which I downloaded from the internet, it says "Adobe cannot open this file because the file has been damaged OR it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded" I tried to download the files again and again, yet could not open it. The same message was displayed.

Please could anyone tell me how I can be able to open these files?
Thank you.

It is possible that the file uploaded originally into the site was corrupted. Try looking for this file at a different location, you can google the file name if it is not a very commonly used name .. All the best .. :)

Certainly the file was corrupted during the transfer or encoding by the email application. Both occur from time to time and can be attributed to a number of reasons, all of which are not your fault and can not be easily overcome on your end.

Since you have tried to download it over and over, the file may have been corrupted during the PDF translation stage. One thought: if you have access to a second computer whith Adobe Acrobat reader, see if it can open the same attachment. If not, you are now pretty sure that the actual PDF file is damaged and there is little you can do about that except request that the source of the PDF file creates a new copy.

When you try to download the file onto your PC try to change the filed name to something else. Click open the Adobe reader first and browse to open the pdf. file you have saved on your PC.

Hope this helps!

It means that the files are damaged at the source of the download, try looking for a different source for those files if possible.

try Foxit

www.foxitsoftware.com

If that doesn't open it, it's a corrupt file.
