Is better to get a GED at a high school or at a community college? Why?

Technically, they are both exactly the same. Since the data is handled by an advisor rather than a teacher, it's just a matter of the student really doing the work. The testing is done the same way.
However, experience tells me that getting a GED at the CC tends to help the student focus more on getting into at least a CC. People who go there for testing seem to have more direction in their lives; they want to prove their competency so they can go farther, it seems, rather than just get by. Most of them recognize that they weren't the best of students before, that they want to change and try very hard to make the process a success.
I managed a GED program at a local high school for a brief time and it was very troubling to me. A majority of the students were still treating it like high school where they could make excuses and get out of things. Of course, the reality check came sooner or later and very often they would just drift away never to return. The few that came in, did what they had to do and went on were a minority.

The GED tests can be administered only to persons who:
*have not graduated from an accredited high school or received a high school equivalency certificate or diploma;
*are not currently enrolled in a regular high school;
*are at least 16 years of age.

If you had a GED diploma, it could make a world of difference in your life; a promotion, a better job, more money, and a higher standard of living to name a few.

I don't think it matters as long as you obtain one. Earn your GED, go to community college and earn you Associates Degree. You will be able to earn a better job if it shows that you have accomplished something!
