You have wider seats, more leg room, depending on the airline and the flight you may have fully reclining seats.
You have free drinks alcohol and all you have better snacks or food and a warm washcloth before your meal normally. More attentive service from the attendants.
If you're on a long flight some airlines like Virgin Atlantic even have little private seats
check out seatguru.com if you know the airline and type of aircraft your flying (should be on your itinerary) and you can see the seat width difference between first class and coach and the reclining ability of the seat.
You also get power ports most of the time for plug in items and other nice perks

For a long flight, the comfort is great. Is it worth the ridiculous cost? Only you can answer that question. I usually use FF miles for upgrades to business class on international flights and just tough it out in coach on shorter flights.

If you have a long flight--YES!
The extra room and "perks" are wonderful if you are on a long flight. If you are on a short flight....2 hours or less, I'd say it's not worth it. Cross county or international flights it would definitely be worth it if you had the money!

If you are on the "red eye" or travelling east to Europe or Asia, then it is definitely worth it if you can afford it. Sometimes you can upgrade using miles rather than extra cash.

I think so or at least it use to be. The seats are wider the food better if they still serve food. The service is better and you just don't have all the nosie and such with coach.
