Does anyone know or have they heard of the word Jobby. Its one of the best words in the whole world

Sorry, couldn't resist looking at this one (I'm Scottish myself). Jobby is a great word and it always makes me laugh when I hear it although I would spell it Jobbie. I have realised recently that Scots is a great dialect which has some really great words like glaikit (stupid), bahookie (bum) and we did give the world the word Mingin' which I have been hearing everywhere over the last few years even south of the border!

If anyone is interested in Scots words (although I should point out that there are different words used in the regions of Scotland but I think Glaswegian is the most recognised), I reccomend they try getting a Glasgow phrase book, Pariamo Glasgow is the classic one. Ye'll be knottin yersel!

yep, slang for lots of things from poo to cars, or anything you cant think of the right word for....

"I had a great ride in that Japanese jobby the other day"

"Mummy, I've just done a jobby"

etc. etc.

As kids we always referred to a poo as a jobby. We grew up in South Africa and my dad was from Yorkshire.

Of course I've heard of it.Anyone who's ever seen Billy Connolly on the telly has.What a great word though,makes me laugh every time.
