Just say thank you, and work hard to justify the raise. Buying a gift is unnecessary.

The best thing you can do is speak from the heart.

Don't say anything you don't mean. Lay it out on the table for him. Tell him exactly how it makes you feel. I wouldn't suggest a gift, though. Let you actions at work speak, as well. Continue to do your job to the best of your ability, maybe stay a bit longer, or come in a bit earlier, to show your appreciation for your raise. As with everything, it is a give & take relationship.

Oh, by the way, congrats......

Stevo.

Write a nice business style thank you either in an email or in a short note to him or her.

The best way to say thanks for a raise, is to pump up your work, produce more of whatever is happening in your industry. Perform your job duties in a more than exemplary way. Then you'll be in line for another raise!

Shake his hand and say Thank You and then continue to work as if you were still striving for a raise. You do not need to do anything else if you earned it.

I would write him a letter or email saying thank you. Thank him for rewarding and recognizing your work and for taking the time to do something about it, and assure him that your work will only continue to improve.
