I don't know Canada, but don't shut me down! Insurance follows vehicles, I can't see how that is different in Canada than anywhere else. You and your spouse are both considered the insured under the policy, so she does not need her own insurance. You can always ask your company, but I can't even imagine her getting a policy of her own if she doesn't have a car of her own. Just make sure you report her as a driver on your policy so they can rate the policy based on her record, and to make sure she is covered.

Certainly YES. There are many reasons. Some of them are:

1. Because Vehicle insurance company covers the car damage and the third party damage.

2. Because you love your wife very much.

3. There are a chance of mishap while females are driving the car.

Bye

No but make sure that she is either the co-owner or is listed on the policy. This is especially important if she is an inexperienced operator or has a bad driving record since the insurance company could give you grief after an accident.

Car Insurance covers the driver, not the vehicle. As long as she is driving a car, yes she should. Everyone should have car insurance in case they are hit by someone else.

I was told that I would be covered under my husband's policy as long as he stayed the primary driver between 8-4.
