My "parents" are both very tall, thin and have white blonde hair. I am petite with dark hair. They never smile and they talk in a way that shows no emotion. I want to be happy and talk about things. They are always at home except at night I think they are away sometimes. I am home schooled and sometimes they don't even seem to know the most basic stuff, but other times they talk about things I don't understand at all. Could I be adopted?

You will never know if you do not ask. They may not want to talk about it. Do you look like any Aunts or Uncles? If you are over 18 you can do a search for your birth certificate on there it should say who are your parents. You will need your birth certificate for schools so it is a good chance to look at it. The only thing is if your parents adopted you directly from the hospital you may still need help finding out.

You probably didn't get their dominant genes, that doesn't walways mean you're adopted. Maybe you got your other relatives' genes. Being happy isn't really a gene, it's just the way your character is. Knowledge also doesn't have to do with genes. Maybe when you get older, you'll start getting their genes, like in hair color or a growth spurt or something.

There is probably a small chance you are adopted. Your parents probably would have told you if you were.

You may be adopted. Or, you might be an alien found in a field. Or, you may have been switched at birth.

However, I went 25 years thinking that I was adopted because I was strikingly different than my 'family.' My family lied about it again and again, until finally owning up under threats of blackmail. I have since met my biological father, sister, baby brother... Good luck!

You could ask them casually about your documentation, like your birth certificate or your Social Security card
These are things that are needed for driver's licenses, jobs, etc.
Once you see your certificate you would know definitely.

You could ask them directly. Perhaps who in the family, like a grandparent, aunt, uncle, has your coloring. Its not unusual for light parents to have a dark child if they themselves had a dark parent.

Doubtful, but a possibility. Have you always felt alienated from them? Have they always been this way? What about siblings? Aunts and uncles? What about your birth certificate? How old are you? All the things can help you find your answer

No that doesn't mean you are adopted. Talk to your parents and tell them what is bothering you. My mom has reddish brown hair, hazel eyes and my dad had black hair, it's now grey and brown eyes. I am the oldest of four and three of us including me has blond hair and blue eyes the youngest has brown hair and hazel eyes.

it's possible but your traits can be from you parent relatives or parents, and just because they don't have any emotion doesn't mean you have to too. Be your own person. Don't worry if your not exactly like you parents I'm sure you have a few of thier traits like eye color.

No, I mean you could, but you also might just be different. You are your own person, and even if your parents both are tall, and look totally different from you, you can be their daughter.
