In my high school, there's a pretty big group of black girls. However, most of them are fond of the 'gangster' type of guy while I am a more focused on an education than dressing in designer wear or changing my language to up my "game". I have seen this in many other places besides my school. Some not all black girls will seemingly call me a geek or loser, just because I like reading. Is this an adolescent problem, or does it happen even as an adult? It is hard for me to find black girls willing to start a relationship because they already have a type of bad-boy image in their head. I also sometimes feel awkward when trying to approach a girl of a differrent race when there are black girls around. It's strange. Is this normal?

I'm a black girl and i lean more towards the smart black guys. To me its shows your actually focused on what's going on around you opposed to looking at some girls butt. I dont know why girls like the bad boy image cause to me they seem more immature then smart guys. But this is common in all races. I see this at my school everyday....people going for the bad boy type instead of the smart ones. Oh and you shouldn't feel akward as to approaching girls of a different race when there's black girls around. Let them stand around and talk as long as it makes you happy to talk to someone else you dont have to worry about them. But in conclusion some black girls do like smart guys.

I'm black and I love smart black guys...u can't hold a conversation with a so called "school gangsta". If I date a smart black guy, it shows me he has his head on straight and he's not caught up into a temporay image. Plus, those gurls don't know what they want....you can't benefit from those losers who pretend to be tough...I want a smart guy because they can also teach me things I never knew. Just keep ur head up...you'll find the one soon...Just don't rush it...relax and focus on school

Yes black girls do like smart black guys. Your in high school right now and the young girls in high school are trying to fit in to clicks and be popular. They may not be blowing up your celly right now, but keep on the path that you are on and they will come. Trust me when I say that they are smart and once they get out into the real world they won't be looking for Mr. Thug life Bling Bling that doesn't know how to write out a check to pay for his skittle colored fronts or those 24" rims. We need more young black men like you. Stay smart, Be strong, and Keep on keeping on!

See, im a black woman(not girl, woman age 20) and i have seen alot of girls who like gangstaz and i think itz stupid cuz they end up pregnant by em and they end up in jail or they abandon the baby and the mother and now they cant get an education for themselves and the child...the cycle just goes on and on but my point is i have made it to the age of 20 without any of that because i look for a man with intelligence and goals in his life and being specific in what you want in a mate isnt being picky. Just go with what you want in a girl. It shouldn't matter what race they are, it's about what you want and who is right for you!

ALL teenage girls, not just black ones, are hard to figure out! You never know what they will go for and when...it all depends on what their friend think....but when you are older and making the big bucks because you are so smart you will never have to worry about that again! They will flock to you from all races!!

this happens for white people too, in high school you get called a loser sometimes for being smart. listen to me-- dont bother with the girls who dont appreciate you!! there are really smart guys in my school i wanted to date but i didnt know if i was classy enough for THEM. there are most likely girls who wanna date you, dont bother with girls who want a thug, theyre ho's ! i know what you mean about feeling awkward about talking to someone of a differnt race when theere are white guys around. youre afraid they'll disapprove. in this time and era, interracial relationships are so common. email me, we have much to talk about.....

most blacks girls like guys that are rocky,i am saying this because i am a black but my boyfriend is a not that type of guy and i like it like that.that does not mean you would not find girls that likes your personality,just give it a try on the girl you have a crush on.
