I admit, a lot of the characters are despicable, but they are supposed to be in order to illustrate theological, moral and ethical points. I do have my favorites though. I like Boaz and Ruth a lot. It's my favorite Bible story and has been since I first learned to read. Of course when I got to seminary and learned about Hebrew euphemisms like "uncovered his feet" I understood why Boaz suddenly decided to marry Ruth, something that had previously been a mystery to me..
