I went to a co-ed college, and I can see advantages to either situation. On one hand, life is co-ed and you will have male co-workers, so it might be better to learn how to work with members of both sexes. On the other hand, not having had guys around may have eliminated some distractions for some people who had a hard time concentrating when there was a boy around to flirt with. I think if you're a serious student, you'll do well in either environment.

coeducation. If parents feel their daughters wouldn't be around boys at a girl college it's unlikely. There's boys off campus. The main problem....girls argue too much amongst themselves which is likely chaos on campus. Males allow the escape for help in studying or company.

I suggest a co-education college. This is for several reasons but the first and foremost reason is that in real life you will have to live/work/interact with men and this is an important skill that you must hone, in my opinion college is the best place to hone this skill. Secondly, the fundamental ideas being single sex education are great ones but I really don't think they are true in actuality. I know several "products" of all girls/boys schools and they always seem to be one step behind socially.

I can't really say that I'd recommend one over the other: single-sex or coed is hardly the most important factor to consider, especially at the college level. If you're supposedly there for an education, make sure you really get one. (Which school has the programs you want? But do they have them to the exclusion of other kinds of programs? What are the core requirements like?) Yes, there are social questions to ask, but these can't really be broken down into same-sex or coed. (What are the people like generally? Friendly and helpful? Or pushy, mean, or snooty? What is dorm life like?)

The long and short of it is, there are a lot of good same-sex schools, and a lot of good coed schools, so don't limit yourself to one kind or the other.

I believe in coeducation at all phases of education because social interaction with members of the opposite gender is an essential part of life, development and education. When your college-age girl will graduate and move into the workplace, it will be more helpful to her to have interaction with men and the workplace is thick with men. Also, she will be better prepared to have adult relationships (i.e. dating and marriage).

Co-Ed, it gives you more of a chance to experience relationships... to experience the "whole" college experience, not just the educational part but the social aspects as well... My cousin went to an all girls school and all the girls wanted to do was sneak out and go see boys... or they were lesbians, there were apparently ALOT of lesbians... she dropped out after the first semester... and went to a Co-Ed college instead

co-ed.. you're talking about college, not kindergarten or school. for asking this question, you surely must have been in an all girls school so far.

reasons:
this world isnt so straightforward anymore - you need to learn to deal with the realities of life. one of the biggest realities is the coexistence of women AND men. you can't escape them. you are expected to spend the rest of your life with them.

1) how will you understand a man's psychology if you keep yourself sheltered from them in every way, shape and form??
2) you need to interact with them and learn to deal with them so that you are ready for your future career - will you work in an all-women's office too?
3) men arent simple, ignorant species.. they're complex, straying, etc etc.. how will you understand the good from the bad if you don't have some males as friends, and others as acquaintances to learn from?

these should be good enough pointers
