The answer is a resounding YES.
The application you need is called...Restoration and can be downloaded under a freeware license from

It can also undelete/recover data from FORMATTED digital media cards. Of course theres no guarantee but it worked for me.
Note: to all the people above who said it can't be done, if you don't have actual proof or evidence for an answer, don't answer.
None of you obviously work in technology else you would not have made those comments, almost ALL data is recoverable if the media has only been deleted or formatted once, even yoru hard drive can be largley restored after format. Several formats one over the top of the other is a good start for permanent data removal, not one.

The people who say that you CAN recover your pictures are correct, if you have the proper software. Some manufacturers even ship their cards with software to download onto your computer so that you can do this, if necessary. Check out the free sites mentioned above.

Sorry, but there is no way to retrieve pictures when the card as been wiped. the card is similar to a tape that has been erased

picasa is a Google's photo software. It's what should've come with your camera.
It can Edit , organise and Share you picture and small video flips.
It's very easy to use and is free, just like Google
