I made the ultimate mistake of getting the same tattoo with my ex-girlfriend. We broke up a long time ago and I got another tattoo on top to hide it. Should I tell my girlfriend of the real meaning of the tattoo that's underneath?

It all depends: 1) Is she going to be a serious extended part of your life? If not, then don't tell her, but if she's going to be in your life for a long time, and she asks, NEVER lie!!! 2) Does it bother YOU that she doesn't know? If it bothers you, then go ahead and tell her. If it doesn't bother you that she knows, then don't tell her unless the relationship becomes more serious. Finding out things about a persons past after a long time in a relationship, and being told there is nothing left to tell, and then finding out there was more, is not fun. If she loves you, she won't care, she has a past too, you know.

I wouldn't bother with it. You got it covered up for a reason so you shouldn't feel guilty about it. Your covering it up was a way of erasing that ex girlfriend so leave her in the past along with that tattoo. You really have no reason to get her all worked up over it so just keep it to yourself and move on.

What if one day you are having a beautiful time with your girlfriend and suddenly arrives your ex-girlfriend, she get closer to you and ask you for your tattoo and says all he story and your girlfriend who you already love gets anger with you for ever just for not saying the true since the beginning...
I know, I´m being paranoiac but it could happen...

I don't like dishonest men but you can't produce anything positive out of this situation. Women will always (always) remember what's underneath and bring it up when they are upset, I should know, I'm a women and I would always remember that when we argued. Take this secret to the grave.

Honestly it depends on your relationship and her personality. There was a time that I probably would have felt upset...don't ask me why (maybe immaturity, jealousy) if my BF told me but now I would be fine. However, if you already covered it up it shows that your ex is no longer important to you which is good. But really honestly unless she asks I would let sleeping dogs lie. ;-)

IF YOU THINK YOUR GIRL CAN HANDLE IT THEN DO IT. IF NOT YOU MAY WANT TO KEEP IT TO YOURSELF. THE LESSON: GETTING A TATTOO WITH A GIRLFRIEND ISN'T A GREAT IDEA, ROMANTIC AT THE TIME YES BUT WHEN YOU BREAK UP IT SUCKS.

Why not i guess you don`t wanna break her heart by making her discover the truth and you know there shouldn`t be secrets in an affair.
