I'd say stop going to places where alcohol is served and stop buying it. Find a less damaging addiction to transfer to...which si what will happen anyway. A lot of people I know with drinking problems need the feed the sugar fix (since liquor is high in sugar) so they begin eating a lot of sweets.

First, and foremost, you have to really want to quit. If you aren't completely committed to quitting, nothing you attempt to try quitting is going to work for you. Second, you must confide in a close family member or a close friend, who does not drink, and would be willing to help you through this. That means, standing by you when you're down and out and most likely to take a drink. It means being willing to accept your phone calls, at any hour, during your times of weakness, etc. Third, you must not go to bars or establishments which serve alcohol, as the temptation will overwhelm you. When at a gas station, pay at the pump, rather than going in, since most sell beer. Most of all, you must separate yourself from your friends who drink. Keep in mind, true friends help their friends. If they have continued to drink in your presence, and are aware of your problem, they are not true friends. The number one priority in stopping drinking is staying away from alcohol, and others who indulge in it. Best of luck to you!

Try being hypnotized...I have a friend who tried and tried to stop smoking....the addiction was just too strong.....he didnt actually believe in hypnotism...but gave it a shot. He walked out of that office and never had one craving to smoke...and its been 12 years. He can be around other people who smoke and it doesnt bother him at all......
If you've tried everything else...then what do you have to lose?
Good Luck !!!

Turn yourself into a rehab someplace.
And when you get out, change your attitude toward AA.
Obviously, you haven't hit bottom yet. I hope you live long enough to get some help.

There comes a point where you will say "I will do anything to quit drinking." If you don't get to that point, it means your drinking has killed you. If you do come to that point alive, ask what to do and it will be answered.
