I believe that the point of contention is not a dispute between those who love goodness and those who don't. The problem is who's definition of goodness prevails? What one group calls "loving" another group views as "repugnant-evil".
Non-Christians very often view those who profess Christianity as unloving, intolerant, and hateful. Sadly, they are often right. But what makes their assessment truly accurate is that the Bible itself calls such attitudes wrong, sinful. Ironic, isn't it?

How many millions of people have been slaughtered by Christians in the name of their god?
approximately 10 million each for the crusades and inquisition.
6 million by Hitler in the quest for his master race which was blond hair, blue eyed, Christians.
At least a few hundred thousand in the witch hunts.
20 thousand more in Serbia in the nineties.
Or how about taking a look at christian charities.
CCF (christian children's fund) "Oh your a poor starving Muslim child? Tough, get out of here because you can starve to death for all we care. You don't get any of these piles of food because you are not a christian."
The only "love" about Christianity is to it's own people.
There is nothing good about Christianity.
It is just a poor excuse to kill and hate.
Deny it all you want, it does not make it any less true.
The worst part of all of this is that every single example I have stated goes against the teachings of the bible, but after all is said and done you kill, hate and discriminate against anyone that does not believe in the christian faith.

I do not know anyone that hates goodness. Love is the center of christian religion? Is love telling me to f**k off for not believing jesus was the son of god? No.

Have you read some of the q&a here? Being christian doesn't necessarily mean you're good and loving. There are hateful people in every religion, christianity is not exempt.
And I don't think anyone hates goodness.....but I could be wrong...

if everyone's equally good, then there'll be no more balance. good needs bad, and bad needs good. Forgot what the term for this but it's like that.
to you're question, well, that's their opinion and beliefs because they are, anti-christs anyways... i guess we just have to respect that. But for sure they have their own views on goodness or love, but it' not centered on christianity--for them.

No- I agree with many of the teachings of Jesus. A lot of them are very nice and make perfect sense.
I just don't believe he was a god and that I should accept him as my savior (whatever that means).
I don't think that people hate the goodness of Christians- it's the proselytizing, the holier than tho' attitudes, the damnation threats, etc.

The two will never come together. Goodness and evil.
2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

Goodness and loving is ok but delusion ranting and brainless bible quoting is an affront to rationally thinking people.

Because they don't understand how a person can give selflessly. Anyone who doesn't follow the true teachings of Christ (unconditional love) will never understand.
