My boyfriend gets bad cold sores, but I don't think I've ever had one in my life. Are some people more prone to getting them than others? Is it possible to never get them? Any information appreciated =)

If you immune system is strong enough, and your boyfriend doens't kiss you with an active sore, you'll be OK.
Cold sores are a form of herpes virus, it's a viral infection that resides in you, and often stress or other illnesses that weaken your immune system causes the virus to take hold and cause these sores.
but you have to be exposed to the virus to get them in the first place, and once you get them, there is no cure. but a healthy lifestyle with enough sleep and exercise, and reduced stress will help keep them at bay.

well they say that most people have the virus that causes the cold sores in there body, probably from birth..but not everyone gets them..my mom, brother, sister, aunt..and a lot of my friends and ex's get them, but i've never had one in my life..i think some people are just naturally immune to them.
