I have a recipe for this but I live in a French-speaking country. I can recognize it when I see it but it's nowhere to be found in the meat section in the groceries here. What should I tell the butcher?

If I translate word by word, it would be "Petites côtes de boeuf". I've never heard of that, and I am french, but I'm not a great cook either :)

Ask for spare ribs. Works in french too.
