Do not worry. It is very common for puppies to get hiccups they will grow out of it. My adult dogs rarely get them but all of them got them many times per day when they were puppies.

I'm obviously no educated on the field, however i have had puppies for 30 years and it sounds as if every puppy i've had has had the hiccups....My most up-to-date pup an 11wk historical fine dane, appears to have a bout of the hiccups daily. Matter of fact, he is hiccuping as I write this.... :o) ..Just right good fortune with your new pup!

It's most likely because he's eating his food way too fast..puppies will do that..that causes air to build up in the stomach, which causes hiccups...not always right after he eats. Try putting a heavy solid object in the middle of his bowl that he has to eat around..that should slow him down a little. Just make sure the object is not something that he will gobble down:)

I have a 7 month old lab mix that does the same thing...just randomly starts with the hiccups and doesn't gulf his food. Vet said it's very common in puppies and they will grow out of it.

Awww how sweet. I wouldn't worry about it. The suggestion about putting something in his bowl so he cant gulp his food is a great idea and should work.

Hi there! I don't think you should be worried, may be his way of saying thanks! My dog sneezes a lot and his problem is allergies so it is kind of cute...I have him on allergy medicine for dogs. If you are really worried this is the kind of thing that you can talk to your vet about over the phone. =) Good luck!
