If your planning to resell the products, you'll need a resale sales tax document. Then you'll need to obtain an Import/Export license from the IRS. Unless you have a partner in China who is looking after your best interests, you are going to have to go there in the beginning to set up your accounts with the wholesalers, that's if you want to make any money at it.

Go there, to say, Shenzen. Choose what you neeed, order 40' container's worth, and ship it back.

Duties are small, cause you paid very little in the first place.

I would suggest contacting an Import/Exporter and they can arrange this transfer for you. They would also be aware of duties that need to be paid, etc.
