There was a post removed recently about contradictions in the Bible. I was able to answer a few of those so called "contradictions". Most of them were really poorly put together from some skeptic website. I completed a few of these so called "contradictions". If you so desire, add more "contradictions" that you know are not true contradictions and we will vote for the best one.

Here are mine:

Should we kill?
Ex. 20:13 Thou shalt not commit murder.
Ex. 32:27 Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, put every man his sword by his side...and slay every man his brother...companion..neighbor.... also 1 Sam. 6:19; 15:2,3; Num. 15:36)
****answer: Man should not murder, this is true, murder is about killing the innocent. But WAR is not murder.

Ex 20:5 "...for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God..." (see also Ex 34:14, Deut 4:24, Josh 24:19, and Nah 1:2)
Gal 5:19-20 "Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are...jealousy..." (See also 2 Cor 12:20)
*****answer: Jealousy from a sinful man’s point of view is much different than that from God’s. Our jealousy tends to created unrighteous anger, while God is jealous when His creation bows down and worships false Gods. God cannot sin, so His jealousy does not lead Him to sin as it does with us.

Should we tell lies?
Ex. 20:16 Thou shalt not bear false witness.(Prov. 12:22; Rev. 21:8)
1 Kings 22:23 The Lord hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the Lord hath spoken evil concerning thee. (II Thess. 2:11; Josh. 2:4-6 with James 2:25)
****answer: We must remember, that our lying is always a sin as we can do no other, but with all things of God, He makes all things good. So even if that means that he had some lie, it was a lie that would bring about His Glory. In 2 Thess, it says that those who reject God will be given the false information to continue to reject God if they do not stop rejecting Him. These are the lies which God allows people to hear and believe if they continue to be so stiff-necked in their rejection of Him. Many here are like that.

Should we steal?
Ex. 20:15 Thou shalt not steal. (Lev. 19:13)
Ex. 3:22. And ye shall spoil the Egyptians. (Ex. 12:35-36; Luke 19:29-33)
***answer: No WE should not steal, but as for what God would do for his people so that they may survive…he allowed them to steal for their survival. What loving Father would neglect the needs of His children if that could be prevented?

Shall we keep the Sabbath?
Ex. 20:8 Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. (Ex. 31:15; Num. 15:32,36)
Is. 1:13 The new moons and the Sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity. (John 5:16; Matt. 12:1-5)
****answer: Here is a great example of skeptics trying to hard. Ex 20 is speaking about keeping the Sabbath holy and yet Isaiah is talking about false worshippers that God does not want to see and then John and Matthew are talking about something totally different concerning Jesus.

Shall we make Graven images?
Ex. 20:4. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven...earth...water. (Lev. 26:1)
EX. 25:18 And thou shalt make two cherubims of gold, of beaten work shalt thou make them.
****answer: This is talking about worship. The two cherubims were not created for worship.

Well Delvadv..

Looks like I am doing good if you had to say 6 down. How about researching those contradictions yourself since you are not willing to answer the question.

For those who say idiot responces like, "blah blah blah..."

Don't ya just hate being wrong? Doesn't this just get under your skin? Ewww those dumb Christians!! LOL!

You see, you will always feel this hate burning in you just as the Devil does for as long as you live and into eternity. Your hate brought you here, your disgust brought you to posting your vile.

While it is true that many Christians are poor witnesses of the faith, it is the Truth of God's word that burns you up.

Don't bother reading this thread people. I can summarize it very quickly:

If God does it, it is a-okay because he's perfect. If you do it, you are a sinner and have to repent. Therefore, there is no bible contradictions.

1) Nothing says that war is different than murder except your own words. What part of the bible does it say that murder and war are different? It doesn't. Because murder happens at a larger scale, it doesn't justify it.

2) Under that logic, man could feel jealous in the same context, so it would create a contradiction. Example: You become jealous that people worship the flying spaghetti monster.

3) Okay, this is just bs. God could go a million ways to say his message without needing to lie. If he chooses to lie, it is because he is willingly sinning.

4) This is worse than bs. You basically are suggesting god can't make a loaf of bread appear to keep people from starving and keep them from sin. Oh yeah, that's right, god can only make water into wine.(before you say it, remember jesus is god since he is part of the trinity).

5) Ehh... I'll give you the benefit of the doubt because I'm lazy to check the scripture.

6) It says graven images. It doesn't say graven images for the intention of worshipping.

Try harder next time apologist.

you are quoting alot of the old tesitment...and you lack much understanding...if you read more of the new testament you would see how many things were consummated...that would anwer many of your "contradictions"...

war and murder are different...unless you ask a liberal...try a dictionary...

spoils and stealing are different...unless you ask a liberal...try a dictionary...

the cherubims are for decoration...not worship...you are trying to hard to find faults with the Bible...

telling lies...you totally took it out of context...

19 Micaiah continued, "Therefore hear the word of the LORD : I saw the LORD sitting on his throne with all the host of heaven standing around him on his right and on his left. 20 And the LORD said, 'Who will entice Ahab into attacking Ramoth Gilead and going to his death there?'
"One suggested this, and another that. 21 Finally, a spirit came forward, stood before the LORD and said, 'I will entice him.'

22 " 'By what means?' the LORD asked.
" 'I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouths of all his prophets,' he said.
" 'You will succeed in enticing him,' said the LORD. 'Go and do it.'

23 "So now the LORD has put a lying spirit in the mouths of all these prophets of yours. The LORD has decreed disaster for you."

i think you forgot this verse...Colossians 2:16
16Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day.

the sabbath can be anyday of the week you rest and give thanks to God...

The biggest contradiction in Bible is -- Jesus said "I am the way,I am the truth and I am the life,,no one can reach heavenly father but through Me". Starting from Adam, upto Malachi no one accepted Jesus as the Savior. So there is no way of their being in heaven . Those who were born and died before 2006 years also could not have accepted Jesus as the Savior. So they also don`t have a place in heaven. Or there is some other way of souls reaching heaven. These facts disprove the authenticity of Bible.

You really can't believe your own rhetoric.., can you?

What you are professing is pure SEMANTICS..,

OH.!.., It' is OK to do something in one situation.., as long as you are GOD..,

BUT PEOPLE, FOLLOW MY WORD !!!!

You must remember that the BOOKS ( the Bible) was translated by MAN..,

You can claim Devinne intervention or what ever floats your boat, BUT.., There are enormous contradictions..

I will not even venture into the realm of MISS-TRANSLATIONS!!

I do not take a man's word for anything..., I have done the work myself, and it is amazing the amount of mistakes throughout history that is perpetuated.

Comparing all books on earth, there is contradiction of same books but the bible has no contradiction despite that human beings of various works of life wrote it. for instance, the Luke reports his message varies coz he was a Doctor while Mathew form of report is different coz he was a fisherman. however, both Mathew and Luke makes same points without contradiction.

What are you talking about? This is your interpretation. Another Christian may see things differently. I've heard Christians who believed that war was murder. I know plenty who are pro-choice too. I for one am not going to discuss what certain passages in the bible mean or don't mean since I don't believe in it.

Plural and "contrary" scriptures were written "aforetime" for y(our) "learning", obviously to go "learn" what meaneth "I will have mercy, and not sacrifice".
http://www.godshew.org/ShewBread5.htm#willx2

"Go"(depart from me) & "learn" (Mt 9:13).
Then it's "come", let "us" reason together.
"Come": "boldly" to "the throne of grace".
For coming dblemindead gets ya "nothing".

Of such twain things, such as "answered" AND "said", only the singular script-u-are is what is "inspired of God": 2Tim 3:16. Not to mention "escape" of "no escape"/"escape" is via "give more earnest heed" to what's been "said"; especially what "God said", such as "let there be light"(not lights, nor light + darkness).

Which things are an "allegory" with an over-all more-all:
My "grace is sufficient" for thee meaneth no law is req'd.

TgooLJCwya. Amen.

"WAR is not murder" ?
"what god would do for his people so that they may survive"?

if you can't see how weak and biased this argumentation is, then there's nothing to be told.
you can even justify Jihad and Terrorism with what you've just said.
no point saying more. we are complete opposites in terms of thinking.

Blah Blah Blah. What are you trying to do? Most people here don't believe in the bible. They couldn't even give two craps about the contradictions in it. Please save your points and post this on a religious website.

There are no contridictions in the bible. Just those who do not read it to understand God's word, but to try to destroy it.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
