guys! I wonder if u could help me!!
I could find it NOWHERE!! No Dictioneries!!!!
can u tell em what it means?
here is my full sentence : "I though my account was in the bank, but i got a letter that it was overdrawn."
it seems to be the opposite of Overdrawn!!!
anyway, thanx for ur help! :)

i think you might have miss heard

i think you mean your bank account was in the BLACK this would mean it was in credit, in the red your account is overdrawn

Well, in this case this is NOT an idiom. This is what it means...sort of. The sentence structure is incorrect. "I thought my account was AT the bank, or I thought my MONEY was in the bank, but i got a letter that is was overdrawn." IN THE BANK is an idiom but not in this case....it means TO COUNT ON, GUARANTEED, FINISHED. Hope this helps.

in the bank as far as i have heard it used means something is done.
for example, a friend went on a date and she slept over. therefore the date was in the bank. i.e. it means all good, toyo bien, etc...
ps the reason u couldnt find it anywhere is cuz its an idiom
check idioms on a google (or yahoo, i dont care) search
