How about ovulation? Its been stated that many women experience spotting and sometimes pain on either the right or left side at the time of ovulation. Are your cycles regular? Have you been under stress that may have slowed your cycle so you actually ovulated at a later time than normal? Are you trying to become pregnant? Did you recently have intercourse? Many things can cause spotting. Early signs of pregnancy are frequent urination, breast tenderness, sometimes nausea, however I don't believe any of these are detected prior to missing your period. light brown discharge is not usually considered to be spotting. Spotting is blood, but not consistent like a period. Light brown could be many things. Go see the obgyn if your having other symptoms ie, fever, pain during sex, frequent need to urinate, painful urination. If not than wait. Try to think about other things and you will know soon enough if your pregnant. Believe me when the pregnancy hormones kick in you have got to be very occupied by other issues not to notice the symptoms. The only other thing to concern yourself with is ectopic or tubal pregnancy.
That can be serious so if you have increasing pain on either the right or left side and spotting increases get to the doc immediately. Best wishes!

No, I do that especially if I am stressed or late and I am 52 years old. I have done that all my life. I have even had black blood. I knew after 4 days of missing my period that I was pregnant when I was 38. It was my first time and I knew. Your breasts, not your nipples get tender. You feel like you have a baseball above your hairline (at least I did). The best thing to do is get a pregnancy test just to find out. If you get stressed and worry alot then it tenses up your body and can change your cycle. Everyone is different. I don't know how old you are but it doesn't matter. You can get a free test done at the Health dept. and if you are young they aren't allowed to tell your parents. It is between you and them. Good luck. Hope it works out the way you want.

Before I got pregnant I had a 28 day cycle...on the 21st day of each cycle I had some spotting..this happened EVERY month. When I finally got pregnant, the spotting on the 21st day did not happen, so I knew that I was pregnant on the 21st day of my cycle.

If you are coming off the pill, it could be hormone re-adjustment.
If you have been trying to get pregnant and had sex between days 5 and 7, then yes it could be implantation bleeding.
Are you taking your prenatal vitamins to prevent birth defects? Even women who are only trying to get pregnant should take them.

not if u didn't have sex, but if you didn't then it just means you're getting ready to come on your period again this month. sometimes if you haven't come on all month and you see signs of discharge, it could be a late period. If my answer didn't help check out beinggirl.com you can ask them anything about that and they'll answer right away!!!!

You could, that is a possibility. A pregnancy test will tell you for sure though. Wait a few more weeks!

That sounds like implantation spotting to me. If so, congrats. Don't take a test, though, until your period is due.
