If the place is too dry your garlic will disappear from inside its skins. Use it. It will deteriorate quite quickly otherwise. Alternative: take the corms and shred them into a screwcap jar whilst fresh, that way the stuff lasts a good lot longer. A braid of garlic should be hung in a location where you want to ward away the Devil, they say.

Store garlic in paper bags in a cool room at about 32-35 degrees F. Do not store garlic in the refrigerator as the dampness will cause it to rot.

Like onions, hang the string/braid up in a cool dry space with little or no light and good air circulation. A pantry, not many new houses have them unfortunately, a garage or shed are all good places.

Store it in a cool dry place if you are going to use it. If you want to use it for decoration in your kitchen you should buy other garlic as you need it.

Hang in a cool dry place and use it right a way. You don't want it to hang around too long because just like anything else, it can go ransid after a week or so.

Hang it in a cool dry place. Don't plan on storing it forever though.

Subcommander! Don't put it in the fridge! It'll turn it bitter.
