In theory organic food could be better for you because it should contain less pesticide, antibiotics and fetilizer residue.

In actual fact, even most organic food producers will use these things, but only when necessary and not routinely. i.e. only use pesticide on an infected field, not routinely on every field.

The point of being organic is really that it is better for the planet. Less pesticide gets into the food chain (pesticides damage bird eggs for example and have led to some types of birds becoming endangered), less fertiliser ends up in the ocean (where it causes algal blooms and other problems) and less un-needed antibiotics end up in people (increasing our resistance to them when we need to take them to cure diseases).

It is also safer for the farmers and farm workers as they have less exposure to dangerous chemicals.

Go organic if you can afford it!

I feel the difference IN MY WALLET. It's expensive!! I think the fruits are better organic - the apples I can definitely taste a difference...but everything else, no not really - or the food tastes kinda bad. I'm just not huge into it...my mom and my aunt are but I think the best thing you can do is just eat moderately.

Ihave tried both and feel no different, i think organic food is in the long run better because of the way it is grown but for a family it is expensive, maybe if they brought the prices down more people would use it

Generally it does taste better than general supermarket food.
I reckon that this is mostly due to time. Pestisides and fertilisers promote rapid growth of the veg, therefore it doesn't have time to develop all those flavourful compounds.

I do think that supermarket veg has lost something, I go to local green grocers and find it tastes better, whether organic or not, than supermarket stuff. usually cheaper too.

The link might help.

Yes as there are less chemicals on it. So far I have found that cheese, carrotts and Sainsburys rice pudding are a lot nicer if they are organic. It depends if you have wrecked your tastebuds with junk food and smoking though.
