I'm interested in whether flat footed people can be conscripted (if it comes to it) in the UK, but I'd also like to know about other countries too. I know if I went to try and join the army/police/(navy and airforce?) I would be turned away as I have very flat feet, but does that make me exempt from conscription?

Perhaps I was misled, I was always told that due to the excessive marching needed to function in the army, and the fact that flat feet + running/marching = injury/discomfort that I would be shunned by all.

With today's modern technology, it's possible to fit boots/shoes to problem feet, so I don't think that would be an issue any more.

At one point in time, we (US of A) did deny people with flat feet the opportunity to join the military. Now, however, we have people with flat feet serving right next to people with regular arches.
