In one of Jesus' teachings he said that we (Christians) would be persecuted/hated because we follow him.
006...Employers can't legally discriminate based on religion or they risk being taken to court. Persecution can come in many forms, not just physical violence. It can come in form of friends abandoning you, being disowned by family, coworkers making making not so nice cracks about you, a teacher who hates Christians doing anything they can to fail a Christian student, etc.
I became Christian in high school. What few friends I did have decided they didn't want to be my friend any longer, was sent to the principal for wearing a necklace with a cross pendant on it because I wasn't allowed to express my religious beliefs in any form on the school grounds yet some of the atheists and satanists wandered around in school wearing "God is dead" or "I hate God" shirts and never got into trouble for it.
In the adult world...I can't wear cross jewelry to work unless I want to be harrassed, getting belittled by another shopper at a book store because I am looking at Christian books, etc. My point is that just because Christians are not being beaten or beheaded here (USA) for our beliefs does not mean that we are not being persecuted in one form or another.
Christians in other countries though have it much worse. I've seen reports of Christians in China getting beheaded or tortured because they won't denounce their beliefs. The movie China Cry is a very good documentary about this.

Christians do face persecution in the West. Most of the time the persecution in in the form of being called hypocritical, bigoted, intolerant, closed-minded, stupid, etc., by non-believers.
That persecution is nothing in comparason to the very physical persecution of Christians worldwide. In Sudan, Christian children are sold into slavery. In Saudi Arabia, a Muslim who converts has 24 hours to recant or face death.

Do they? I would argue that, more often than not, it's the Christians doing the persecuting. I'm not saying that persecution of Christians never happens, just that some Christians should take a long look at what they say and do before they complain.

Do you call taking the Ten Commandments out of a
courthouse persecution? People in th East are tortured
for thier faith. Bombed. Get thier arms chopped off with
machetes!
I hear all this Hallelujah all the time. Cause they think they are
going to get raptured up. But I go news. Christians are going
to suffer horribly.
Then we'll see who is still singing Hallelujah.

They don't. They are spoiled brats who want to control everything and the second someone stops them from imposing thier ignorance on the rest of us they immediately start crying persecution.
Example: Xians want to place huge crosses on publicly owned land, this is illegal and unconstitutional. Instead of accepting the rules of law they start whining about persecution.

Can you name one instance of persecution, please, like being denied a job for being Christian, or being beaten up for being Christian, or denied a taxi ride for being Christian, or a law passed saying they're not allowed to be married to non-christians? Cite the source, too please.
Addendum: Still waiting for one example...

I don't see that Christians get persecuted any more than any other religious peoples.

I think you'll find that the Greeks and the Romans laid the cornerstones of Western 'civilisation', and they were pagan, poly-theistic cultures at the time.

Because of evil in the world. Anytime you tell someone to follow God instead of evil they don't like it. Just look at Hollywood, rappers, Madonna and others videos and what is on TV.
