In wiring it is often that we think we need to have more shielding for instance on a long microphone cable. If u are not careful u get hum in the microphone. The real problem is u have current flow in your safety ground . sometimes u can eliminate this by only connecting the shield at one end. The better solution is to eliminate the current flow in the safety ground. U can do this by checking your neutral and grounds. The neutral and grounds should only connect at the transformer. For safety u need MOV about 15 to25 volts ,between neutral and ground for lightning protection.
