Instead of helping and encouraging them to improve their lot in this life, Religions teach people about the glorious afterlife that awaits them when they die.
If all these so called religions are so good and honest why do they thrive by exploiting their foolish followers by teaching them superstitions and lies?

Afterlife is a great hook to bring in the rubes, who doesn't fear death? Religion is the ultimate con. It is government protected, tax free and the product they sell doesn't have to be delivered until you reach a place that doesn't exist. Little wonder so many people jump on this manured money wagon.

Afterlife is a goal that is meant to replace the foolishness of this present life. Religions afford followers an alternative, that is, forget the evils in this life and strive for a heaven after conquering these evils.
It is an unfortunate reality that evil-doing can make you accomplish your corporeal needs faster. Evil leads to more evil. When all things are evil, the final outcome is chaos, disaster and destruction.
Atheism does not offer anything better. Silence and static pacifism breed evil by permitting everything. Evil predominates when all forms of control disappear.
Religion offers some form of control. It is not absolute as evil can exist in religions. Scientology has made science some form of religion.

Why suddenly jump to the conclusion that an afterlife does not exist and is a lie? I think the main aim of the teachings is that you need to be a good and honest person and not try to hurt or do wrong by others and you'l reap the rewards in the end.

I assume you know for a fact that their is no afterlife.

I do not agree that Christianity teaches any such thing.

It teaches that man is lost in sin and the world has proveing that out very well, just look around you.

It teaches that God is righteous and can not tolerate sin.

It teaches that man can only know God (and thus Truth) by coming to God through the righteousness of Jesus Christ.

It teaches that Jesus died for your sins so that in his death and resurrection you can have everlasting life with God.

It teaches you of Gods pure Love and how to fellowship with him.

The Word of God also guides us through this life and shows us how to deal with every situation.

God loves you, call on his Son and you will find the truth.

This is just an opinion ahmed. What seems like foolishness and lies to one can seem to be truth to others.

Life is long, our opinions of these things can go back and forth. For 40 years I felt the same way that you do now, then this happened to me.

Several years ago I had an unusual experience concerning an uncle, a distant relative who lived over a thousand miles away.

While driving my car I suddenly felt the unmistakable presence of this relative that I hardly even knew. He was more like someone I had heard about than someone I knew. It was very strange; it felt as though I was momentarily lifted right out of my physical body. I seemed to be suspended somehow beyond space and time, bathed in a love so intense It felt like I could have just disappear into it at any moment if It would have let me. It only lasted for a few seconds, but it seemed to last forever at the same time. I realize how crazy this must sound. The experience was so strong that at first I was afraid I was loosing my grip on reality. I finally managed to chalk it up to an over active imagination.

Three days later I got a call from my aunt telling me that this uncle we are talking about had gone into a coma and died the day I had the experience. It felt like ice water had been poured down my back when she told me this. I had lost any real ideas of God or faith and had become somewhat of an atheist. Needless to say this experience caused me to rethink some of the conclusions I had come to.

I feel blessed to now understand that even in our darkest confusion something loves us so much that it went out of its way to assist me and bring me back to a state of absolute certainty about Gods love for us.
During the experience it seemed like there was a vast amount of information that I was somehow allowed access to. One thing that I came away from this experience understanding beyond any shadow of a doubt was that any Idea that God is unhappy with us or would judge or allow us to be punished for any reason is simply impossible.

I can’t explain the love I felt with words. They simply don’t make words big enough or complete enough to do this. The only way I can begin to convey this love to you is to say that there was simply nothing else there. Nothing but love. No hint of judgment, no displeasure of any sort. It is as though God sees us as being as perfect as we were the day we were created. It is only in our confused idea of ourselves that we seem to have changed.

I hope this is of some help to you. Good luck. Love and blessings.

Your brother don

According to the Vedic scriptures there is a cycle of repeated birth and death, samsara. One's actions in this life determine the next life, that is karma. As long as one is in material consciousness - desiring to enjoy sense gratification in this material world - one will have to take birth again and again to satisfy one's desires. But constitutionally we are eternal spirit, part and parcel of God, and don't belong in this material world where we have to suffer birth, death, old age and disease. Therefore any true religion will teach it's followers how to regain their original consciousness of God, and become free from this cycle of birth and death.

It can serve as a reward or as a punishment. It depends on what you do in life.
