You need to wait another 50 years then ask this same question.
What do death, being over 50, and athiest have to do with what is going on?

And to John R where does the Bible teach that the world is flat. It was your precious science 700 years ago that taught the world was flat.

Why God Allows Pain
A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard
trimmed. As the barber began to work, they began to have a good
conversation. They talked about so many things and various subjects.
When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber
said: "I
don't believe that God exists." "Why do you say that?" asked the customer.
"Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that
God doesn't
exist. Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick
people?
Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would
be
neither suffering nor pain. I can't imagine a loving a God who
would
allow all of these things."
The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because
he didn't
want to start an argument. The barber finished his job and the
customer
left the shop. Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man
in the
street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard.
He looked
dirty and unkempt.. The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and
he said
to the barber: "You know what? Barbers do not exist." "How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber. "I am
here, and I
am a barber. And I just worked on you!" No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because if
they did,
there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed
beards, like
that man outside." "Ah, but barbers DO exist! What happens is that people do not
come to
me." "Exactly! "- affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God
DOES exist!
What happens is that people don't go to Him and do not look for
Him.
That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."

If you wanted to be dead then you would be. The reason why you are not dead is because you have not used up your life. Maybe God has planes for you. By asking the question you acknowledge that God exists and that you have disappointed him. Don't fear he will take care of you. I have broken every commandment in the bible and I am still here. The reason he has planes for me.

But why do you want to be dead, and if you are wondering about God giving such time for you to live maybe there is a reason and don't wait till you're gone to say Oh! I had the many chance to do something for God but now I'm in hell.

We are all God's children whether or not we believie, he forgives, through he's son Jesus Christ and maybe he knows you will turn to him, he loves you like all his children, but your right take up an extreme sport, that's one way of living life to the full, can't do that when your dead. ;)

Hitomi, that is the worse story I have read from all the god stories. There are thousands of religious people that suffer day by day. And how can anyone try to make a comparison of god (allegedly all knowing and all able) and a barber? Wow.

50's still pretty young & healthy, if you've taken care of yourself. Being an atheist has nothing to do with how long you live. Unless you get randomly attacked by christians who try to force you to convert. ;)

Think over the good deeds you've done. Maybe you have a mission in life you haven't noticed. Don't push the boundaries though.
