In spite of America's dislike for this particular Bush war, there are still people who do this. Your heart is in the right place.

After seeing the post below stating that you could no longer send packages through anysoldier.com, I contacted them about this. Here is the reply I received:
We just went past 105 MILLION hits. Yes, we are VERY much in service....

So as not to insult anyone because they were simply misinformed, I did not post the entire reply to my inquiry. These people work very hard on this project and they have a very nice set up. You can go to the site I listed above and view a list of representatives from various units. They usually give a little information about their unit and list items that the people in their unit are in need of. (not all are in the same conditions). Some places they have electricity, others do not. Some have appliances like microwaves and refrigerators...others not. Some units have female members and they usually ask for special items for them. That is why this site is good...you get to see exactly what people want and can use.
NOTE: Just to clarify....you can't just send a package to "anysoldier". anysoldier.com is just the web site. There are instructions there for "How to send a package" (note no. 2)

Yes, there are still people who do that, but it's hard to do unless you know a soldier. What you can do is talk to the family of someone who is deployed and get their soldier's address, and then maybe he can get you some addresses. You used to be able to send a package to "any soldier" but the assh*les who decided to send anthrax through the mail put an end to that. I would give you some addresses, my husband's unit is deployed, but they are set to return in a month. Some people posted some web-sites, you can go to those to post messages to soldiers and find other ways to support troops, but I'm pretty sure they don't give you any addresses to send packages to. You could also check with your local national guard or reserve unit if they have any soldiers who are deployed. In most units there are single soldiers who don't really have someone at home sending them care packages, and they might be able to provide you with an address or maybe you can drop packages off there for them to send.
Good things to include in a care package:
shaving supplies, deodorant, chips, cookies (especially if they are home-made), anything you think they can't get in the desert. Also see if you can get a teacher at an elementary school to have her students write them letters, they get a kick out of kid's letters.
Wait, I was wrong, that any soldier web-site does let you find peole to send things and also tells you what's good to send.

It's great to see that you support our soldiers overseas. A great place to start is www.americasupportsyou.mil they have things where you can send posts, do care packages, or help with events to support our troops. Every little bit helps with the morale of our boys overseas.

not so many but remember as myself being one of those soldiers we love care packages since we do not have all the nice things you guys have back in the states, its actually not expensive to send a care package cost about 15.00 for your average size box its not expensive because all military has either a APO AP or APO AE which is treated like a state.
This is a website to do it at http://www.operationusocarepackage.org/site/pp.asp?c=ikLVJ7MSKvH&b=569653

They stopped doing that, because Iraqis started to send their own IED packages to troops and somehow get delivered along with other packages from the U.S.

You ask the kinfolk for the handle. this is that straightforward. it's going to take US postage to get it to the APO or FPO handle, and the armed forces will grant it from there. you will additionally could desire to end a "custom's assertion"... yet you do not could desire to pay foreign places mail expenses... thank you for the very variety gesture. Our servicemen and servicewomen foreign places rather savour something that gets sent over!
