I have damaged hair. I have noticed that it is not growing. I always braided my hair and leave it braided for like two weeks. My hair is falling out. Everytime I brush it hair comes out. Just wondering does my hair need protein like puting mayonaise or coconut milk?

well i have dreads, and they get a bit dry sometimes, so i mix a tablespoon of olive oil into 250ml shampoo. also what you should do is massage your scalp for 5 minutes every day to stimulate hair growth. another thing i do is make an infusion with dried rosemary and rinse your hair with it. rosemary stimulates hair growth.
hope this helps

WHOA!! Stop doing what you are doing. Your hair is eppilating, and that has nothing to do with anything else but your constant braiding.
No conditioner is going to fix that for you, it will only, at best, give you soft hair that falls out of your head. The problem is at the root.
I am sure, though, that you won't be stopping, but I feel for you.
A good hardresser should have told you this already, and if not, she/he isjust in it for the $$$$. If you have a friend do it, and don't pay for it, well, there's part of the problem.
GoodLuck. perhaps a new, lower maintenance style for you?

Visit http://forum.blackhairmedia.com for more information.

But in short, if it is breakage, try Soft Sheen Duo Tex Protein conditioner to slow down the breakage. Then follow it up with a moisturizing conditioner to add back the moisture. Also please put away the brush. Brushing is not ideal for curly hair types, even when chemically straightened. I would suggest using a wide tooth comb (Go to www.sallysbeauty.com) and look for a wide tooth comb or a shower comb. These are the ones I use:

When your hair is damaged, you need alot of conditioner. Put some conditioner in and leave it in as long as you can. I get damaged hair alot because of coloring it, and I put conditioner in before I go to bed, and then wash it out in the morning, and it has helped a great deal. I do it about once every 2 weeks until my hair gets healthy again.

Infusium 23 - Daily Treatment
Salon - hair conditioning treatment once every other week for 1-2 months - depending how bad it is.

A good stylist will recommend what you can do without telling you that you have to spending lots of money!

Mine actually recommends the Infusium products.

You naturally shed about 100 hairs (probably more) per day. Keeping it braided keeps the shed hair in place. It only seems it is falling out in an inordinant amount. Mayo does moisturize nicely, I wouldn't put it on the roots as it is a booger to wash out.

good luck

Try using a hair masque. i recomened:
PAntene Pro-V triple amino instant repair treatment-instant restoration for tiered, damaged hair. It works instantly to make tiered, damaged hair moreresilient. Over time hair loses amino acids, which are essantial ingredients of healthy hair. Pantene's product repairs the look of hair and protects it against damage.
