Although serum and plasma are esentially the same. Plasma contains clotting factors (and other blood components such as eletrolytes, hormones, and protiens). Serum can only be found in blood after clotting has happened.

serum is plasma without fibronogen.serum looks yellowish. fibronogen is a blood clotting protein.
