Isn't it time Britain only allowed people into Britain who are going to contribute to the economy?

By this I mean people who have a trade and are actually going to work rather than just letting anyone in, we have enough problems of our own and enough of our own wasters bleeding the economy dry.

I am certainly not ignorant but this open door policy does frighten me - where will it end?

If we want to emmigrate we have to meet strict conditions, so why isn't it like that here?

I'm sick of all these foreigners coming in and scabbing off the state and then working cash in hand while my tax pays for their house and spending money!
I can't get an NHS dentist for my kids cos they're full and only taking on immigrants (but this is apparently not racism??!!!!) so I've had to pay for them to go privately. The only way I can afford this is to not have dental treatment myself so I've not seen a dentist in 5 years!
Sooner or later this country is going to collapse cos wages are gonna be forced down by cheap labour while prices are going up for everything else. If I could I'd emigrate somewhere else but make sure I could contribute to the society I was moving to instead of being a complete lazy scrounging scumbag!!
Welcome to Britain though for all those skilled people who want a job here and can pay their way like the rest of us!

There are good people are there are wasters. I have friend who come here from india to study cos all the resources are better here ie education. He intends to go back because he want to improve the economy for his country so he can create a better way of life for his kids etc. some come here to imrove the economy here, some just come here and screw up.
But many come here to look for work find it hard cos they aint got no National Insurance. Nearly every job requires you to have the skills and experience. most dont get the jobs and as you say "bleed the economy dry"
there are those who do it to take advantage, ok yeah boot them out but those who work really hard to help their families back home and help the economy here. let them stay.


Britain needs to do its part by saying yes lets create this program where foreigners learn english, give them workshops classes to develop skills and work experience so that way they wont have to queue up in the jobcente or something.

Anyway i hope someone does come up with a really good idea and help benefit everyone.

Definitely. When the UK first started its open door policy a flood of criminal greasy pikeys (gypsies) from Eastern Europe came over here with nothing more than the intention of milking our benefits system dry and committing street crime. The women took to the streets, mouths full of gold teeth and dripping in gold bling (armed with their babies), to aggressively beg people for money. These women were also claiming benefits at the same time until the British public, outraged at this put a stop to foreign criminal scum (not the hardworking international people who benefit this country) doing this as soon as they hopped off the ferries, airplanes, lorry cargo holds, etc.
These types of people need to be deported immediately. Canada has a good immigration policy - no scrounging, useless immigrants allowed. This should be implemented here. This country has also allowed in too many asylum seekers! As was said before other European countries should be made to take in their fair share rather than us having to be a main refuge for these people.

Britain already DOES only let in people who contribute to the economy - unless they're asylum seekers, in which case they're perfectly entitled to come here if they wish.

Poland has provided Britain with huge amounts of skilled labour, and Poles have plugged gaps in the labour market (for instance plumbers and dentists). Without immigration from Poland we'd still have 9 month waiting periods for dentists and plumbers who can charge you a solid gold arm and leg.

Asylum seekers are perhaps less useful to British society, and perhaps there ARE too many of them, many go straight through Spain, France and Germany to come here. We should persaude them to take more of their share of asylum seekers, so we aren't left with so many - but even so they're still not as immense a problem as the daily mail would have you believe.

Yes, I agree,. There are people from abroad who could and do contribute a lot, but all those who don't bother to learn to speak English and live on handouts and expect special treatment should be sent home. Many arrive with no proof of real identity or proof of real country of orrigin and seek assylum. This makes it impossible to repatriate them if their request for assylum fails. It is also impossible to tell if that person is a dangerous criminal in their own country or elsewhere! Greater measures must be taken.

You feel the same way as most other Brits, I dont understand why theiy get in so easily. As a South African it is such s mission to enter UK, yet we used to be a British colony. For all Europes 3rd world countries it is so easy.
