Before I got my kitten, the neighbours had a kitten that came up to my house every day for about an hour. It was ALWAYS fed. It was quite a plump kitten. But they don't seem to care about it anymore. It came to them as a stray and they took it in and looked after it. It stayed in the lady that lives beside me's house for a few nites and they didn't come lookin for it so she rang the number on the tag but they didn't answer. But here's my probkem, for this past week or so, the kitten has been living with me. I have been feeding it and it plays with my kitten. It was starting to get thinner and you could feel its backbone sticking out so thats why I decided to feed it. It even sleeps with my cat in his shed at nite, and I have even left out 2 food bowls now, one 4 my cat and one for theirs. But i hav NEVER tried to keep it with me, I have never deliberately put it in the shed, and I always try to send it home. I'm not tryin to steal her, its bin a week now and they havent come lookin yet

Well, I'd say you got yourself a new kitty! If it was so thin you could feel the poor things bones, they obviously didn't want it. Back at my Mom's house, there was this cat of the neighbor's that kept coming to our home like that and eventually they called us up one day and told us that they didn't want the cat anymore and that we could have it. So, congrats on your new kitty!! What are you going to name him? Oh, and don't feel like you're stealing it, you rescued it from certain death. Great job!!! God Bless you!

I do not think there is anything wrong with the kitten but that it was not fed well and I guess now that you are taking care of it she might get better and healthier
anyway if you want to keep the kitten then I suggest to knock your neighbor's doon and tell her that her kitten is at your house and ask her if she still wants it or what since it does not leave your house and the did not come to look for it
if you do not want it then too go knock on her door and take the kitten with you and just give it to her .. and if the kitten just comes back then as said call the animal shelter

They probably are glad its gone, they might be too busy now to look after it properly, or they could be away at the moment, it was good of you to take this cat in, but if you can't handle the both wait another week, if they still don't come loking go round and see if they can still look after it and why they weren't worried, if the answers they give make you concerned about the cats welfare then contact the rspca.

Cats will find a meal at any door. Check with the animal charity RSPC etc where you stay to see if it has been chipped. If the owners have not been responsible enough to do this then they do not deserve to own a cat. You seem a caring person so just take care of it as you would your own

I don't agree that this kitty is sick-just hungry.
Go to the owners and ask them if they want it-explain what you've been doing. If they don't and you do-no problem.
If they don't and you don't-Humane Society. If they say they do,politely mention that cats need food and attention, then if they continue to neglect it call the local Animal Control and seek advice. Good luck, you are a very nice person.

Bring the cat home to the people who own it.. It sounds like this cat is sick and they probably don't want it.. It could have Feline HIV or leukemia.. and yes it can make ur cat sick too....If the owners don't want the cat then call Cats protection league or what ever animal charity there and get this wee thing some help.

it's a very complicated situation... continue doing what u do now and see what happens... but u should care much more 4 ur own cat than the neighbor's...

Call your local ASPCA and tell them about the stray. If the owners were concerned enough, they would have been looking for her by now.

Take it back to them, if you are physically standing on their door step trying to give it back to them then they cannot say you are stealing it. If you cannot keep it yourself find a local shelter that will take it for re-homing.
