Most answers are good.
Here is my comment.
There is no best or worst age.
Marriage is a contract.
Local laws were created and were changed many times in some cases for good reason, by well meaning people for the welfare of the community in general and for the people uniting with each other in particular.
Legal age is just a guide line, and it is the law of that land.
Some people mature early some late and some never.
Maturity is fore most but other factors (finance, health, fertility clock for females.....) are equally important.
This is why it is the individual's responsibility to evaluate the situation and decide on bases of informed situation.

26 for boys and 25 for girls cos we guys need some one who cares us a lot at that age( i mean after completing the studies and searching for job) and it's the right age for boys as we don't go for other avegations we can have some responsibility, responsibility towards our family and it increases our mental strength and we get safe sex (which will also help us keep healthy and we will be able to concentrate on other things, things needed for career development or some sort of business or job) about girls it is the right age when a girl becomes woman as she can independently stand on her own and if she gets pregnant in the earlier ages she will have good understanding with her children and the age gap will be reduced and it is good (this is my opinion about girls i can't tell u more than this as i am not a girl)

for boys it is 21 years. for girls 18 years. however, in india the marriages don't get registered so no one cares about the age. as a result of which many girls used to get married in the early age, so do the boys. i hope the system now must have changed by now for good.

I think...it is 24 for girls and 26-27 for boys..(as boys take time to get matured.. :)) also the body can also handle the physical and mental changes ,new relation and many other things regarding marriag ; very effectively at this age..i.e. total happiness..total satisfaction..

For myself it was in my 30's. I am so much better as a spouse and parent because of my maturity and ability to be secure in myself. I really feel I got married knowing who I am and what I wanted. I have no fears about NEEDING to be with someone. I have years of having made it on my own. However, when I meet couples that married younger and had large families...and made it...I am a bit jealous. Because of my age, I lost the ability to choose to have a large biological family...so I guess I would have to say it is a personal issue and differs for everyone...
