Some of the people here have not read the statement/question properly. I have not said anything against anything. Nor have I said what I personally believe in. PLEASE READ THE QUESTION AGAIN PROPERLY. and DO NOT assume that I am lecturing for or against GOD! I have mearly put a thought down that crossed my mind.

Yes, both of the religions are quite similar to each other in some ways. The Buddhist follow the Eightfold Path and the Christians follow the Ten Commandments. Plus, Jesus encountered some Buddhists in his travels.

god is everything, then why does he need cousins, when the time comes he send a messiah in every age, as he has done everytime since the ancient times, some religions survive while others merge, but the purpose of every religion is to realise the same god who is just called with different names. god is everywhere and everything whether anybody admitts or not

Buddha was a wise and enlightened man, much like Christ. He was no more Divine than any of us could become, should we dedicate ourselves to our spiritual development over many lifetimes. Christianity and Buddhism could happily live together. The only conflict might be the Christian tradition of claiming to be the One True Faith that makes all other faiths False and Paths to Damnation. Buddhism makes no such claims. Fanaticism is not a path to enlightenment.

We can live side by side and in peace. Speaking for the "pissy" Christians as one person said, we can do this because of the peace and love found in the Lord Jesus Christ, and no one in any other "religion" can even come close to Him.

people, if we got down to just basics, leaving religion out of it. That means everybody on the planet. YES...as long as there exists goodness, which really is not a religious thing. No matter who we are, what nationality, to be good and kind to each other, is not because of our religion, or political preferences, it is in our nature, just as badness is there. If religion were left out, it is possible that we could live in peace with everyone. Ignorance is a problem.

Jesus had a cousin thank you very much! He was John the Baptist!
No we don't need any cousins. No we won't join with Buddism, there is only one God for us.

Thanks for the proposition though. It was very neighbourly of you.

God doesn't have cousins. He has sons and daughters, though, and you're one of them.

Christians are taught to live in peace with their neighbours, whether they are Buddhists, Muslims or Jews, etc. But there's only one way to have a relationship with the creator God, and that's through Jesus the Messiah.

God never believed in cousins!! What you call the god is the name by which you can call him. Another person may call him by another name, I may call him differently, but it all is aimed at one power which controls every activity in the universe. The holy spirit without a name, the holy father, the holy son Christ, the budha, the krishna, rama are all addressed to that power. If the human beings understand this, any religion is compatible with another.
