Sounds like a true nonbeliever hating what they don't understand. Misery loves company, not getting any company from me.

Why does the religious-movement keep bashing gay people?

Do they think they can rack down on others just because they feel bad about themselves?

There will always be tension between religious fundamentalist and gay activist, it is the way of the world. What I find odd id that the Gay Activists don't point out that today's religions have far more problems, even sexual problems, than even the Gay community. The Christian Churches tend to ignore one of the teachings of Christ, about trying to pick the splinter out of the eye of the other person, while a pole is in their own eye.

Christian fundamentalists don't go after the gays because they think they are wrong, but because they fear them. They know that their own Christian teachings have become so diluted with mythology, spiritualism, and superstition, that they have little left to built a solid following on. Increasingly, new generations are seeing this and turning from the churches and to other things, such as the gay community. Yes, a person may be born homosexual, but it is still their choice to exercise the life style, just as it is a choice to exercise the life style of a person who is attracted to children, which is now also considered an sexual orientation established at birth.

If the Gay community really thinks it needs to fight back against today's religions, they need only point out the pole in the eye of today's religion, for when organized religion fixes it's own problems, then it can chase after others. But, they better hurry, because the time if coming quickly when the world's governments will turn on organized religion (Babylon) and destroy it forever.

The gay-movement bashes on religious people not because they feel bad for themselves, but because they want OTHER people to feel bad for them. Conversely, religious people bash on the gay movement (not gay PEOPLE, mind you) because their spiritual texts clearly say that homosexuality is a sin. Religious folks are fighting for society to realize that it's wrong, despite how many gays claim that what they do behind their closed doors is "natural", but it just plain isn't. It's a conglomeration of gender role confusion and sexual frustration. Religious people are adamant about fighting the gay movement (which only seems to be gaining momentum in gays' favor) because if ONE sin can be accepted by society, what's to stop others from becoming tolerable? There are people out there who for some unknown reason just feel a compulsion to hideously butcher random people and then wear their flesh like clothing. They might argue that what they do is natural. Are we supposed to accept them for being sick, murderous f*cks because it's "the way God made them"? No. God isn't making you sin. If the sin of homosexuality is made okay, then soon so will EVERY sin.

Love the sinner, hate the sin.

The gay-movement, as you coin it, bash the 'religious' people because the religious people, those who base their religion on the Bible especially, because the Bible says that homosexuality is wrong and a disgusting thing in the eyes of God. The gay movement wants to try to ignore that fact and think that what theyare doing is perfectly fine and that God approves of All his little children.
Well, guess what? No, he doesn't. He is just like any father. He has rules that he expects his children to listen to and to obey. At 1John 5:3 we read "3 For this is what the love of God means, that we observe his commandments; and yet his commandments are not burdensome, " God does NOT want to make it hard to serve him and he does want to protect us, so none of the things he asks us to do is going to be anything to hurt us or deprive us from some kind of enjoyment.
God wants the BEST for all of us! He does NOT want to destroy people, but at the time of judgement, it is those who practice gross sin and are not repentant that won't be allowed into his new system of things. 1 Cor. 6:9 reads: "9 What! Do YOU not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men, "The gay liberation movement pushes to make homosexuality morally acceptable, and when homosexuality and the Bible’s morality become issues in TV shows, it is the Bible’s position that is made to look narrow and stupid .
But look at it from God's standpoint; he created man and woman to be partners together, not only in work and labor, but also in sexual matters and in raising children . They are physically MADE to go together... their parts 'fit' together properly not only for conception purposes but also tobring honest and mutual pleasure to both during the sexual act. This is how it was made to be for them, NATURALLY. Any other way of pleasuring one self - whether it be by yourself, with another of the same sex, with an animal or an appliance of some sort, is an act against the natural use of ones' body and thus an act against the one who created it.

Think about it. God actually DESTROYED entire cities because they had become so depraved in their sexual tastes and misuses of sex . Sodom and Gommorah were both destroyed because of their disgusting sexual appetites and practices.
So , taking such a serious and respectful view of sex and sexual relations is probably the biggest reason the gay movement has such a mad-on toward religious people. Of course, there is also the fact that some religions more than others actually torment the gay and lesbian communitties. Some religions have more of a 'live and let live' attitude whereas others will actually picket and protest against them. This is not showing Christian love and kindness. While a true Christian would do everything in their power to tell another person of the word of God and of the promises in the Bible of a new heavens and a new earth, where death will be no more and neither will there be sicknessnor pain nor disability, it would still be the other person who would have to have the right heart condition to want to change and conform their life to live according to God's righteous standards. Not everyone is willing to do that and that is what the hard-core people need to realize and quit treating each other with so much hate!!

The gay communitty hate the religious com'ty because they don't want to change because they feel happy the way they are and it was hard enough just to 'come out' as it was.

The religious com'ty hates the gay com'ty because they see them as a spiritual abomination again Jesus and God and want to teach them of the love of both and save them from the life they are leading.

Neither want to give an inch and change at all.

I won't apologize for offending anyone, but I agree with the religious side, I find homosexuality disgusting and a spiritually dead practice. I think the term 'gay christian' is an oxymoron . I believe it is a totally unchristian thing to be a homosexual and anyone who is one cannot be a true christian. I don't see how anyone who is homosexual can even think they are a christian. But, that is my opinion and I am not going to go and picket a homosexual's home or gathering spot and make them feel unwanted. If I offend anyone, I did not intend to.

What color is the sky in your world? Any animosity i the gay community to the so-called religious is the result of gay bashing excused by claiming it's "God's fault they are acting like idiots.

You need to get some facts straight, pardon the expression. People do not react to homophobia, bigotry and ognorance because they "feel bad about themselves" but because they know thay are entitiled to the same protection of the law and the same human rights as anyone else.

Many gay rights organizations are religiously based. I guess it never occurred to you that people of faith are also sometimes gay.

Do we have the right to make these judgments?

To pronounce another religious group to be false can seem a pompous undertaking, especially in a culture that preaches tolerance for everything from homosexuality to a mother's "right" to kill her unborn child. Tolerance is the banner that unites much of our culture and anyone who points a judging finger at someone or something is often ridiculed.
But Christians are told in the Bible to separate themselves from the sinful practices of man and to expose error. "Examine all things and to hold fast to that which is true" says God's word (1 Thess. 5:21). So we do.
What does it mean to examine if we do not judge what is right and wrong? Jesus judged the Pharisees as hypocrites. Peter judged Ananias and Saphira as liars (Acts 5:3-4). Paul judged the Galatians as fools (Gal. 3:1).
The reason something can be said to be right or wrong is because the Bible has laid out before us a moral and doctrinal standard that is clear. It is wrong to lie. So, we are able to say to someone who lies, "What you are doing is wrong." That is making a judgment.
Likewise, with the cults, as Christians we are commanded to be able to give answers to everyone (1 Pet. 3:15) and to contend for the faith that was delivered by the apostles (Jude 4). If we do not fight for the faith, the faith will be lost. If we do not expose the errors of the cults then the cults will move unchecked in the world and lead even more into eternal destruction.
To make a judgment means that we must recognize that there are absolutes. In a world that worships relativism, absolutes are not welcome and the cults that espouse their demonic doctrines beg tolerance.
We Christians stands for the truth of God's word, not a compromising collection of beliefs that changes as people's whims change. The cults are cults because they deny the true God, add works to salvation, and corrupt a multitude of biblical truths. Their end and the end of all who follow them is damnation. To do anything other than warn people about them would be unloving.

Well, I think part of it is misunderstanding the theists position on it.

The other side is that there are some people who discriminate against gays and use religion as the reason.

Those who blame religion as a whole are only pinpointing the misrepresented side and using it as a scapegoat against their sins.

God's Word about being gay is clear...it is a sin. However, so is heterosexual unmarried sex. So is lying, so is stealing, so is using profanity, so is gossiping and the list goes on.

Heterosexuals will find themselves in hell along with gay people, so the discrimination isn't against gays, but sin.
Some people don't like to be told that their lifestyle is sinful. That's the reason they bash the religious.

It's mainly because religious people deserve to be bashed. In fact, because religious people go out of their way to be bashed by the gay folks (just check out LGB fora online, including here).

So why do religious people want so badly to be bashed by gays? I think it's largely because those religious people know that their morals are pretty shoddy, and their religions make a big deal out of morality. That means that they have to convince themselves that their morals aren't so bad after all. Now they could go out and make the effort to act morally, and a few of them do. But for the most part, it's easier to pick out some group that is already largely attacked by society, and make a big deal about how immoral _that_ group is. Nothing like distracting yourself from your faults.

There's a Bible verse about this - something about a mote in your neighbor's eye.
