Good grief!
Why you need to put a strain on your hair like that is beyond me, don't you think it would be healthier to let it grow naturally than to subject it to such treatment!
oh well such is Vanity!
My sister had the same problem and started using men's brylcream on the ends, it made it glossy and soft, the way she wanted it, but do not use handfuls on it just a tiny finger tip at a time, and sometimes she would use olive oil which did the same trick!

Cut them off and grow your own natural hair like me. See my blog for a pic so you can veify what I say is true.

Iv got the same problem.I dont think you can stop them going dry.Its soo annoying isnt it. x

soak them in comfort fabric softner it really helps
