*To see/hear his name on bumper stickers, trucker hats, late night info-mercials, billboards, am radio, tattoos, prison art, street corners, in Snoop Dogg lyrics, before sporting events, after sporting events, on city Buses, and so on?

Do these really seem like fitting ways to tribute the son of your God.

I ask this question to those who believe, that's why.

WWJD?

I think he'd have a great copyright infringement lawsuit on the use of his likeness. Needless to say, he'd be one rich son of a... deity.

Then Jesus could really save.. after all, he's pretty frugal.

No I don't think Jesus would mind. He wasn't a rich man, he wanted to reach all the poverty stricken people, surely commercial media is the way to do this. Jesus is not high brow stuff so low brow media are a very appropriate way of promoting him.

I am also an atheist but I believe that Jesus may have existed and that he just wanted to make the world a better place by encouraging people to help each other out. He certainly wasn't the messiah because God is imaginary but it's cool that he tried to do his bit.

It's such a shame that evil people of organised religions have twisted Jesus words and used them to their own advantage or censored parts of the Bible that don't fit such as Thomas's comment 'You don't need the church to find God' which seems like one of the most sensible things anyone has ever written. It's also a shame that most Christians do not read the Bible but instead choose to believe what others tell them about the Bible without reading it for themselves. If they did they would know that it's ok to beat a slave as long as organ failure doesn't kill him until two days later but if you beat him to death on the spot you should pay a fine. Some parts of the Bible are complete nonsense in the modern world.

Considering that Jesus was merely just a MAN wearing out a pair of Sandals way back then, stopping from town to town, listening to a bunch of people and their problems, and probably wishing at times he would've stayed back at the Ole' Homestead....I don't think he would have been pissed, He had to have had a great sense of Humor! After all, (They) had Scrolls, and (Disciples) ....Paul was doing a little time back then in chains, so if you do not believe that he never existed, WHO was that Dude that somehow made his way into the Greatest Book ever written, and ends up on Billboards, city buses..(I haven't seen this one) and in Snoop Doggy Dog lyrics? Just another way to advertise...in our day.
*- Please note sarcasmn, as I believe that Jesus does exist.
Go God! Yea Jesus!

The first part is not worth answering if you dont believe Jesus existed (exists; he is alive by the way). If you dont believe that Jesus lived then you probably dont believe that we had WW1 or the Civil War or many other things that have happened in history that you did not personally see. Sometimes you have to rely on other sources. I of course prefer the Bible but there are other sources from the time period, like noted historian Josephus. Maybe you should do some homework.

Firstly, why should you care what Jesus thinks if you don't believe in him?

Secondly, I think Jesus will welcome all forms of worship and ways which glorify Him, but certain things which are against the Bible, I don't think He would appreciate. Such as tattoos.

Leviticus 19:28
" 'Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD.

About Snoop Dogg, well, you know God looks at the heart.. But if he is singing about God one moment, but the music video is full of slutty dressed girls humping him, I don't think that glorifies Jesus at all..

Get what i mean?

The Irony of it is that the name only ends where it was written or mentioned, it does not sit into the hearts of those who frequently used it. if you love him so much act like him.........just believe in God and follow the commandments(he will be pissed if u dont). Dont advertise him because God has already taken care of that.

No. I believe that the Word can and should be spread. I don't think that abuse of the word "Jesus" would do well, but to stick strictly to a bland church is not exactly the best way of reaching people.

Nope. He would feel the same as the Dahli Lama about it, or Charles Manson... exactly. Jesus did exist, people in non-Christian countries have documents and stories about him - what would be at question is if he performed the miracles as written - which were written almost a century or more after he died. That's for another section.

I guess most of it shows that people care, except maybe the snoop dogg crap. If you don't care why do you care, contradicting isn't it. The true sign of ignorance is to contradict ones own self.

I dont think jesus was the angry type for being on the cross he asked god to forgive the people who were crucifying him forgiveness for they didnot know what they were doing. Jesus preached love not hatred and anger in christianity .True beleiver doesnot get angry and pissed off.
