I am not a very artsy kind of woman although I go through moods of what I like and what I don't but I have always had some sort of art around, I am interested in checking more out and need some suggestions, so what do you like? Why do you like it?

It is like your favorite song, it changes form time to time. Right now 'Christina's World' by Andrew Wyeth and I just had the chance to see the original! It is fascinating the story it tells through the tension of small elements (the diagonal lines of her body, her hands crouching the ground, the flock of birds coming out of the barn, the compositional triangle made of the two buildings and her head) against such a placid and spacious background, it makes me wander: what happened to stress her out giving her such a feeling of disconnection and loss? It was something tragic and sudden, what is wrong with Christina's World?

i dont have a favourite painting but i do have a favourite artist.
her name is Georgia O'Keeffe, American.
If u like inspiering colours and a fresh look then you should look up her work.
most of her work is floral, landscape and the only other word i could use is dreamy.
i would say although her work is not recent it has a light and modern feel, and was definatly modern before its time.
i hope if you do deside to look her work up, you will find it as refreshing and insperational as i do.
you can view and buy copies of her work at art.com

It's difficult to decide, regarding art, if I would want to surround myself with dark and true things or pretty and ideal things

I think a mirror is nice art (by itself w/no one looking in)

I need to find a favorite painting or at least a right-now favorite . ..will try to remember to come back and edit
