The flat Earth is established and can never move?! The Sun hurries back to where it rises?!

The Psalm 104:5 and Ecclesiastes 1:5 verses from the Bible in this section were sent to me by Abdullah Bisyir; may Allah Almighty always be pleased with him.

"He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved. (From the NIV Bible, Psalm 104:5)"

"The LORD reigns, he is robed in majesty; the LORD is robed in majesty and is armed with strength. The world [The deceiving translators should've said "earth", not "world"] is firmly established; it cannot be moved. (From the NIV Bible, Psalm 93:1)"

"Say among the nations, "The LORD reigns." The world [Again, the deceiving translators should've said "earth", not "world"] is firmly established, it cannot be moved; he will judge the peoples with equity. (From the NIV Bible, Psalm 96:10)"

"The sun rises and the sun sets, and hurries back to where it rises. (From the NIV Bible, Ecclesiastes 1:5)"

Well, I don't think there is any need for much explanation to the nonsense above! It is crystal clear that the Bible is full of man-made corruptions and alterations. Since when the Earth is flat and can never move?! We all know that the Earth and the other planets rotate and move in space around the Sun. Since when the Sun hurries back to where it rises, like if there is some hole it rises from and another hole it sets through on Earth?!

For those Jews and Christians who would like to see where in the Noble Quran does Allah Almighty say that the planets in space rotate and move, read the following Noble Verse:

"It is He who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon, all (the celestial bodies) swim along, each in its orbit with its own motion. (The Noble Quran, 21:33)"

The Earth has pillars?!

"He shakes the earth from its place and makes its pillars tremble. (From the NIV Bible, Job 9:6)"

"Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation? Tell me, if you understand. (From the NIV Bible, Job 38:4)"

The Earth has Edges?!

"that it might take the earth by the edges and shake the wicked out of it? (From the NIV Bible, Job 38:13)"

"He unleashes his lightning beneath the whole heaven and sends it to the ends of the earth. (From the NIV Bible, Job 37:3)"

"for he views the ends of the earth and sees everything under the heavens. (From the NIV Bible, Job 28:24)"

"Their measure is longer than the earth and wider than the sea. (From the NIV Bible, Job 11:9)"

Does Isaiah 40:22 really say that Earth is Round?

It is quite clear that the above Biblical Verses suggest and claim that the Earth is flat, has Edges, has Four Corners, has Pillars, and has Foundations. No unbiased person would deny the straight forward quotes above. Only the desperate biased Jews and Christians would.

Some desperate Christians have gone as far as presenting Isaiah 40:22 to try to prove that the Bible claims that the earth is round.

Let us look at what the Verse says:

"He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in. (From the NIV Bible, Isaiah 40:22)"

First of all, a circle is not a ball or sphere or an egg-shaped object. A circle is a flat round surface, similar to flat rectangular, or square, or triangular surfaces. So if the Bible claims that the Earth is a circle, then this is still bogus because the earth is obviously not a flat surface.

We have two conditions here:

1- Isaiah 40:22 is claiming that the Earth is a flat circle.

2- Isaiah 40:22 is claiming that the Earth has a circle above it.

2006-08-30 21:18:20 · update #3

If we were to take condition #1, then we are left with a clear and irrefutable contradiction between Isaiah 40:22 and some of the Bible's verses that I mentioned above in the article, because a flat circle doesn't have "four corners", and ironically in either case, we still have a scientifically false claim about the Earth's shape.

IF we were to take condition #2, then it doesn't prove that the Earth is an egg-shaped figure, and Isaiah 40:22 surely becomes irrelevant to this subject.

One thing is for sure clear, and that is Isaiah 40:22 is obviously ambiguous and not clear if we wish to prove from it that the Earth is not flat and is egg-shaped. If we look at what the entire Bible says (as presented above by all the Verses) about the shape of the Earth as the Roman Catholic Church did in the past, then we would reach the same conclusion they reached, and that is: The Earth is Flat!

Certainly, when Christopher Columbus thought that he could reach India by going west in the Atlantic ocean instead of east as it was traditionally done, the Church in Europe was afraid that he will eventually reach the "end of the earth" and the "Edges of the earth" as the Bible clearly says above, and fall off into the space and die.

After he was able to convince the Queen that the adventure was worth the try, Christopher Columbus had survived several assassination attempts while he and his people were sailing in the ocean, because his Christian Church-believing mates were afraid and wanted to go back.

When he finally found America, he thought he reached India. That's why the North American Continent was called "India", and the Native Americans were called "Red Indians".

This is at least what I learned from my "US History" class when I was in High School.

I have read that bull crap and I still haven't seen where it is saying that the Earth is flat. This is another attempt to make the weak believers doubt there faith. Don't fall for it. It is supposed to make the weak believers doubt and bolster the unbelievers "rational" thinking. Skip this crap and be strong in your faith, which is somthing they can't take from you, you can only abandon it and give it away.Like I ahve said in other posts: "A person who doesn't believe in something, will fall for anything."

It's not just that the Bible is full of man-made corruptions and alterations, the Bible is man-made corruption and is never to be classified with Scripture since the Quran states quite clearly that Christ was not crucified, but it never says that Jesus was not crucified, and it is also quite clear that Isa and Jesus are as separate personalities as are Jesus and Christ and if you are one of those "converts/reverts/new-Muslims" and think you have found Jesus in Islam, then you've got another think coming 'cause, "There aint no Jesus in Islam and aint no Jesus in Quran".

When Allah tells you that the crucifixion was only a Trick and that they are full of doubt but only conjecture to follow Allah is stating that all that comes with the Trick or Hoax of the crucifixion are Tricks and Hoaxes and that Christianity and the Bible and Jesus are all additions to the Hoax.

If you cant get it right now you will never get it right, and if you dont you are still lingering and wandering in Christianity and have not yet entered Islam.

If your Quran tell s you that you can see Jesus and Christians and Jews in it, it is one of the false translations that follow Abdullah Yusuf Ali's failed attempt at translating Allah's Word.

THERE ARE NO JEWS AND NO JESUS AND NO CHRISTIANS IN ALLAH'S QURAN!

I see you have jumped on the bandwagon after the hard work is done in convincing Yahoo Answers that Christianity is as the Quran says, a Hoax, so dont come now and revert to all that Jesus/non-Islam fraud you have picked up from the Fake Sheilhs and the Quack Doctorates.

I am the Sheikh who Shakes the Fake Sheikhs and Quack Witch-Doctorates from all those fake Islamic websites and Universities.

Your criticism should take in the Red Crescent that is used alongside the Red Cross as if the crescent represents Islam as the Cross does Christianity and as if in honour and respect of Christianity when the fake sheikhs only mislead from the Path of Allah.

You are taking Quran into the ring of nonsense when you use it in comparison with Bible as if Bible is Revelation from Allah with just a few alterations and corruptions here and there. You could not be further from the truth. The Bible is a Trick like the crucifixion.

Deedat's days are over and we are now in the days of The Age Of Reason. And deedat too taught a Jesus in Quran like the rest of the fake sheikhs.

Get an honest translation of the Quran or leave Islam alone!

Valentino needs to understand that no Muslim has the power to guide anyone to Islam and you dont compromise Quran to invite to Islam. Truth is not to be compromised and Allah is The Only Guide.

Right now....go outside your Hut or Beduin Tent, now open your eyes and look around. As far as your beady little eyes can see, you will see that earth is flat. That means that although the earth is round your own eyes are deceiving you.

Now regarding the fact that earth and other planets rotate around the sun, when was the last time you felt this movement ? If you jump in the air remain airborne for a few moments would land in a different spot from where you jumped ? If the answer to this is no, then you have to understand that although the earth does move you are never going to feel it.

You are willing to question the validity of the Bible based on scientific truths, why dont you question the validity of the Quran taking into account some of the same scientific facts. ?

When did Muhammad ( PBUH) come into the knowledege of Quran and Allah ? Was this not in or about 610 CE ? So Islam/ Quran came into existence much later than Christianity and Judaism. It was only by 750 CE, that Islam was as fully established as the two great earlier monotheistic belief systems, Judaism and Christianity. So do not question Bible ( and for that matter Quran) without understanding its true meanings. Do not question the Bible just for the sake of proving that Islam is better or a greater religion.

Remember that Christianity, Judaism and Islam are all Abrahamic religions. Judaism, Christianity, Islam and the Bahá'í Faith are sometimes referred to as the "Abrahamic religions", because of the role Abraham plays in their holy books and beliefs. In the Hebrew Bible and the Qur'an, Abraham is described as a patriarch blessed by God (the Jewish people called him "Father Abraham") and promised great things. Jews, Christians, and Muslims consider him father of the people of Israel through his son Isaac; Muslims also regard him as the father of the Arabs through his son Ishmael. In Christian belief Abraham is a model of faith, and his intention to obey God by offering up Isaac is seen as a foreshadowing of God's offering of his son, Jesus. In Islam, Abraham obeyed God by offering up Ishmael and is considered to be one of the most important prophets sent by God. The founder of the Bahá'í Faith is believed to be a descendant of Abraham through his wife Keturah; Bahá'ís see Abraham as a Manifestation of God.

In most translations verses like these are clearly shown to be poetry by the way they are laid out on the page. The Psalms are a collection of beautiful poetic writing, not an astronomy textbook. If the Bible is corrupt, why have people the world over treasured it for thousands of years? And by the way, I wouldn`t be so quick to believe scientists know all there is to know about God`s universe. Last week Pluto was a planet, this week it isn`t...?

throughout the time of the Renaissance Years lots of the individuals have been uneducated and many did no longer study the Bible purely a number of the Clerical human beings actually study it. maximum of them in basic terms recopied it with out understanding what it actually reported, so the assumption of a flat earth became born have self assurance it or no longer Catholics weren't allowed to study the Bible untill approximately 10 to twelve years in the past So that's comprehensible that many have self assurance the earth is flat.

Well i m a Muslim too, and though i appreciate ur effort, but i also needed to remind u, that to insult others beliefs is Not the way to call others towards Islam.
"Don't insult others gods, or else in their ignorance they will insult your True GOD."
"Calls Others (towards Islam) in a beautiful intelligent ('Hikmah' : Arabic word) Manner."
[These were Not the exact Translations, But those who have Read The Holy Quran knows what i m talking about.

i want to invite everyone to Islam. The Religion of Peace, Love, Harmony & Humanity. Don't judge it by actions of Muslims, judge it by what it teaches. i say that dont even go by what i say or by what anyone else say. Do research ur self and Seek The Truth urself 'coz u owe it to urself to know The Truth, and ignorance is one the biggest crime a person can commit against himself. i would recommend that u read The Holy Quran, if u can then take a look at Sahih Hadiths (Prophet's Sayings), and also research through Authentic Reliable Books & Sites (dont count on sites that defame Islam, 'coz they just propagate mis-information and mis-conceptions abt Islam, they cant even back up their comments with significant proofs, so mostly they are rambling falsehood). In the end, i want u to be the judge, as it is ur decision to take. Dont go by anyone's hearsay (even mine) and DO research urself. May ALLAH (GOD) guide u on The Path to Seek The Truth. Peace to All.

P.S .......... have u ever seen a disc (like button, coin etc.), its circle as well as flat. So, according to Bible earth is like a 'disc'.

i think you are looking too deep...God is omnipresent is He not...so could He see the earth as flat...aren't all things possible with God...He also say the heavens will dessolve and the the sky will roll up like a scroll...how can the sky roll up like a scroll...unless you are God and can see things a different way than humans...think about it...the Bible didn't say the earth was flat...that is an out right lie...

Isaiah 34:4
All the stars of the heavens will be dissolved and the sky rolled up like a scroll; all the starry host will fall like withered leaves from the vine, like shriveled figs from the fig tree.

How many days did Allah need to destroy the people of Aad?

The Qur'an speaks in various passages about the people of Aad, and about their destruction by terrible tornado as punishment from Allah for their disobedience.

The Qur'an, however, contradicts itself in the number of days this wind endured.

Lo! We let loose on them a raging wind on a day of constant calamity, [54:19]
Therefor We let loose on them a raging wind in evil days, that We might make them taste the torment of disgrace in the life of the world. And verily the doom of the Hereafter will be more shameful, and they will not be helped. [41:16]

And as for A'ad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind, Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. [69:6-7]

According to Sura 54:19, the wind continued for a single day, while 41:16 uses the plural form indicating at least three days, and 69:7 specifies exactly eight days.

Come on just face the facts that if you keep asking people will keep telling you that these are interchangable literary in the Bible. Who knows maybe one day it'll all be sucked into a black hole. You can't fight a losing battle no matter how ignorant literary translations translate, He is still God the creator in the Bible. He can change, shape, form, and mold anything. God bless.

Sorry friend that does not prove anything. God created the foundations of the world. Usually when he speaks of the earth/world not moving, he is speaking of a country, in this case; palestine.

And i hate to tell ya. (Ecc1:5), what happens in the morning, don't you call it sunrise? hmmm.

The ends of the earth btw means he can see all things

and what does Job 11:9 prove? God is talking about the size of Heaven. Btw get a KJV more reliable.

Your out to disprove the Bible, why not prove the Quran.

Your long winded question that's-not-really-a-question is the reason Galileo was forced to recant his model placing the sun at the center of the solar system and live out the rest of his days under house arrest. He was pardoned in 1992, 359 years after his persecution, when the Vatican finally admitted that it made a mistake, and that yes, the earth really does revolve around the sun.

Ahhh, the old "my religion's better than your religion" bit....the same arguments going on for millenium, and causing more wars, hate, and intolerance than anything else.

Buddhism and Taoism maintain that ANY path to GOD is a valid one.

You put too much emphasis on HOW to worship, forgetting it's all about WHO we are worshipping. NONE of us KNOWS the answers...we only BELIEVE...which has absolutely NO EFFECT on reality, whatsoever. You say po-TAY-to, I say po-TAH-to...blah blah blah, what's the difference?

At least Christianity doesn't demoralize women (as much) or tell us to kill people from other faiths. God didn't write ANY religions books, MAN DID. You CLAIM religious inspiration, but when you start babbling hate and judgement, you lose your credibility. If God were so hateful, he wouldn't be any better than the devil.

Unfortunately, many Muslims, just like so many Christians, USE their religion to justify their hate, judgements, prejudices, and injustices...something ONLY the devil would do.
