No idea, what does the doctor say. If your husband has a contagious condition I would want professional answers.
I had a mouth ulcer and it was very painful. Get help for your children's sake.

Usually, mouth ulcers are caused by a form of the Herpes virus. It is not the type that spreads from sex! I hate the OTC and the RX medications for them. I use salt. I dip my finger in some water and then dip it in salt. I place the salt directly on the ulcer and tough out the pain. It lasts only a few seconds. Then I put a cotton ball on the area, if I can. The cotton ball helps the area to dry to enable faster healing. The salt does the same thing. I know that some people use hydrogen peroxide, but I do not recommend that for a child. If they swallow it, they may have some gastric distress.
Good luck!

those with braces, get ulcers and mouth sores frequently. also those with new dentures and partials... what we tell our sufferers is do warmth salt water rinses 2-3 situations each and each day. this can actually help, them heal swifter. yet wont end them from coming lower back. yet another difficulty is brush more beneficial frequently and use mouthwash..it ought to burn alittle, notwithstanding it facilitates keep the micro organism down on your mouth, which feeds the sores.

Sounds like a canker sore. I get those all the time. It's usually caused by injury to the mouth, like biting the inside of the mouth, etc. Their is no remedy to cure them. They have to run their course which is about a week. WHat I do is brush and swish with mouthwash to kill the bacteria. I then use what's called Orabase....not Orajel. Orabase creates a film over the sore and relieves the pain. Orajel doesn't work on canker sores.

These mouth ulcers are a form of herpes and you should speak with the doctor about it. Rinsing the mouth with warm water and a little salt three times a day will ease the pain and help heal the ulcers.

Before using anything, please find out for sure what is causing this condition. It could be a common fungus or bacteria which your husband and, by hereditary, your sons are susceptible.
I can remember having ulcers in my mouth but they went away with age. Salt water gargles helped.
