I think i'm spelling Belguin wrong, but whenever i make waffles they're always soggy. When you get them at Denny's or IHop, they're crunchy on top and good but mine are always soggy right off the griddle. ANyone else have that problem or have a solution for me?

Depends on what kind of waffles you're trying to make. There's more than one kind of "Belgian waffles" e-mail me your recipe and I can check what's the problem or provide you other recipes

When I used to make them, I always brushed some corn oil on both griddle plates, even though they had a Teflon coating. (VillaWare Belgian waffle baker.)

And the best recipe I remember called for separating the egg yolks from the whites. The yolks would be blended with the flour, butter and other ingredients, while the whites would be beaten in a separate bowl, then folded into the rest of the batter. These waffles took extra time to make, but the results were excellent.

I love making waffles! Your problem might be solved by putting a little less batter in the waffle iron or maybe let them cook a little longer, at least until you can see they are crisp on top. If you are cooking them longer and they are burning you may try lowering the heat so they can take a longer to cook thus creating a more crisp waffle.

sounds like they have too much liquid in them ... maybe trying making them a little thicker and let them cook a little longer.
