I sell on craigslist. It is free and you are posting ads in your own area. You can drive, or they can drive to meet you. I have made several hundred $ selling on craigslist.

Go For It! I love ebay - my b/f says to friends "watch out, if it's not nailed down, she'll sell it on ebay" LOL. I love it love it love it! The fees have increased some in the 10 years i've been on there, but i still make a decent amount of money. I sell old clothes, old school books, old cell phones. People will buy anything if you make it look appealing enough.
My advice to you - take photographs that make the item look as appealing as possible - take pictures of any blemishes or things wrong with the item, take a picture of the tag that shows the size, label, etc. Be honest with your description. Clearly state everything about the item, your shipping terms and your payment expectations. I have found that the better the picture of the item looks, the more you will get people to bid on it from my own personal experience.
Also - if people don't bid a lot, don't get discouraged - a lot of times, people don't like to buy from people who are new or have low feedback (not negative, just low numbers). I would suggest buying some small, inexpensive items on ebay to build up your feedback rating.
Good luck to you!!!

Designer and really good brand names sell, generic don't. Competition is stiff in the clothing area, the clothes will need to be really clean, nice, like new. When you decide to sell check out the Ebay sales for that item. Chances are there will be others, if not just like yours, very similar to yours. That will help you determine how much you might get out of the item and if it will be worth your time to sell the item on Ebay.
Think about selling the clothes in lots. A lot is a group of two or more like or similar items. The reasoning behind this is simple. People have ot pay the shipping charges for the stuff they buy. When they buy they have the shipping charges in mind. A person could buy 4 outifts in a lot and it would cost them much less than 4 seperate outfits because of the cost of shipping. And at teh same time you could make more too. Since the 4 outfits would cost less in shipping people will pay a little more for the itmes grouped then seperately.
Also keep in mind that people shopping on Ebay are looking for REAL bargains! In the clothing unless it is really expenseive designer sutff, don't expect to make more than about twenty cents on the dollar!
Depending on how many clothes you have to sell a subscription to Ebay spicture manager might save you a lot of money. The beneift of Photo manger is that if you have subscription you pay $.35 for your gallery photo but you can put up to 12 photos in each auctoin at no additional cost!

Make sure you take very good images, and describe the items well. If there is ANY damage, do not sell them on Ebay. Bidders are very picky. Clothing must be clean and in perfect condition. Otherwise a yard sale would be a better idea.
Tips:
Selling in "lots" or "sets" makes more money and saves you fees. Like selling a "Huge lot of baby onesies" will make more money then selling them all in separate auctions. They think they are getting a better deal, but end up paying more.
Don't overprice your items. Start them at the bare minimum you will take for the items. Starting them too high will deter bidders.
Do not try to make money off postage. The cheaper the postage, the more bids you will get. Make sure to weigh the items and give an accurate total for shipping through the US postal service (UPS and FED Ex are too expensive).
Open a Pay pal account and make sure it is up and running before placing the auctions up. A lot of bidders will not even bid if pay pal is not an option.
Remember to place a notice that personal checks, if you accept them, must clear with your bank before you send any items out.
Good Luck!

Well anytime when trying to sell something on ebay people go by your Feedback rating, if you have 0 feedback its going to be hard to sell anything. You could buy 4 or 5 "cheap items" to get your feedback score up that helps. Also you can always start an auction at $1 that way the listing fee will be low if it doesn't sell

if your trying to sell anything on ebay, posting gallery pics on yoru listing will increase your visibility by like 50%. when i browse ebay i hardly ever check items that dont have a display pic. also be as accurate as you can when yoru describing what your selling, not just in your description but in your listing as well. you might be selling a blue shirt, but you dont wanna list it as 'blue shirt.' you wanna list it as ' blue tee shirt top boys nice t clothing' something like that. use up every space theyll give you cuz if somebody puts even one of those words in their search area, your auction will pop up and give you a better chance of unloading your items. and you gotta think about your pay options too. are you gonna offer refunds? if you dont want that hassle, make sure your specific in teh description and if all sales are final, than say that, dont assume it. cuz ppl will catch u on it later. theres also a lotta deadbeat bidders out there. u might wanna consider setting a minimum feedback entry. say that youll only accept bids from people with postive + 5 feedback or more. hope it helps

I had an online store w/ebay for a long time (lucrative if you have a drop shipper or whole sale supplier).. Best thing to do is set it at a reasonable price to get bids going. You don't want to set it too high, bc then there are less bidders and less interested ppl. If someone bids for something at $2 then it stays in their mind that they want it. They will keep bidding usually. Other than that.. w/clothing you should have good pics from all angles.

I had a good experience selling a pair of snowboard boots on ebay. I would recommend selling higher priced stuff, not old clothes. It's probably not worth the time for how little you would make.

if your going to try and profit from them, like make more than they cost, I'd say just give them away.
If you just want to get something for them, check prices of other clothes on ebay to give you a good idea what to ask for.
the listing fees are not too expensive and if you take personal checks or money orders you don't have to hook up with paypal, which can be costly.
