Okay, here's the situation. I am 24 years old, female. I live in NY state. I am in love with this guy. Only problem is, He's only 17. (Not that this matters much, but he's very mature for a 17 yer old.)I know in NY state, legal age of consent is 17, but I've also heard that some states also have laws that you cannot sleep together if you are so many years in age apart. I would appreciate all and any help anyone can give me. We haven't slept together, I just want to know if it would be legal or not.

Definitely not legal. I mean the general age of consent is like at 16 so thats a good enough range for you to be together, but til he is an adult in the government's eyes, I wouldn't try anything that would end you up in court over.

I live in CA, the law is 18. However, no one is really following the law. The only way it would be such a big issue if he IS underage in that state, is if someone reports you for it...which would be stupid.

it probably wouldn't be legal to do that YET!! wait until he is 18 and then it will be legal.. and if you love him like you say you do you'll wait for him!! i know what you're going through because i like this guy who is 25 and im only 17!! the thing is he's hurt me and im getting ready to move on because i have to!!
