I know it costs a lot to live in NYC but hey if it was that expensive only people like bill gates could live there-and everybody is not a wallstreet investor or a lawyer-So how much do you think one should make to live well in NYC-Like you know eat out on the weekend and go to the movies-Basically how much does it cost to live well in NYC.I have already found an apartment(1 BR) for $2000

around 70,000 should be your salary to live well.
to live really well/borderline amazing, much higher.

Most people that live in the city that aren't rich, just barely scrape by. Look for a place in Jersey. Union City or Hoboken is alright.

That depends on what Borough yuo are talking about -
Queens, Bklyn, Bronx, Staten island, Manhatten, are all NYC

depends on what your definition of well is...if u can afford a 1 bed room 4 $2000 bucks...then i think your off to a really good start...if u are careful with your money then i think you'll b good...

is it somewhere in the outer burbs? or is it a glorified closet?

you need 100,000 a year to live ok in NYC.
200,000 would be living well.

an arm, leg, foot, heart and stomach unless u live in the projects.
