paedophile
DENVER, Aug. 29 — Warren Jeffs, the polygamist leader of a Mormon-offshoot sect and a symbol of the government’s hardened line against plural marriage in the West, was arrested late Monday after a routine traffic stop near Las Vegas.
Mr. Jeffs, 50, who is wanted in Utah and Arizona on charges of arranging marriages between underage girls and older men, had with him an assortment of wigs and $50,000 in cash, but no weapons, police officials said. He was traveling with a wife and a brother, both of whom were questioned and released.
The arrest, four months after Mr. Jeffs was put on the F.B.I.’s 10-most-wanted list, brings to a head many of the issues that have been simmering in the deeply isolated polygamist communities of Utah.

My favorite line of this story is "He was traveling with A wife..." as opposed to "He was traveling with HIS wife..." I just find that humorous.

They finally caught him? Now keep in mind this is a radicalist sect of Mormonism that other Mormons wish not to be associated with. And that the young girls he arranged weren't necessarily prepubescent (qualifying paedophelia) but simply under the legal age of concent.
And there's nothing I can't stand more than those people who so quickly assure that Mormonism is not Christianity just because they claim to have found more holy documents to add onto the Bible. To be fair, most Mormons I know (and I live in Utah, so I know lots) read both the Book of Mormon AND the Bible. Most importantly, the official name of their denomination is The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints.
Oh, and one other thing:

He does not follow the christin teachings, he as others is a pervert looking for an angle to perve on the bodies of the simple minded.
Mormons have there own book which totally contridicts the bible over and over.
Anyone can call themselves a christian, but to be a true child of God, well Mr Jeffs teachings are not the same and he is a mormon they are not christian, so try another angle for your christian hating.
Equally stated Catholics are not christian they have there own law and worship the virgin mary, they are not christian and they knmow it as do you.

Pedophiles are found in every walk of life, it doesnt matter how old or what color, where you go to church or what you do for a living. Why is it that small minded people wil blame an entire group for what one or a few bad apples do?
Not just in this case, but in MANY cases, " Oh, he is a gangbangin thug, Black people are all criminals", " Look at how many kids she has, and no Daddy, Mexicans must be slutty", or "White people are racist".
And to the smart guy above, Mormons are Christians. That guy wasnt a Mormon.
I wont blame whatever group you belong to for you being stupid.

And how many non-Christian paedophiles?
I assume you are highlighting this particular case to give some kind of 'proof' that Christians are all bad? Or that religion itself is bad?
There are bad people in all groups, whether they are religious or not, and think of all the good that other Christians have done.
No Christian proffesses to be perfect, we just accept that we are imperfect and need God in our lives. This guy was obviously doing some seriously wrong stuff, but why does that make a difference to any other Christians?

The medntion of "Mormon" only goes to show the Jeffs is not a Christian. The sect Mormon is not a Christian organisation and their actions should not be view as Christian actions.

Mormons are Christians
BillyBob is confused about quotes in Revelations. Most of the new testament was written AFTER that quote in revelations that says not to add or subtract from that book. It obviously only implies to that specific revelation, the book of revelations not the bible or the whole new testament would be Void.
Learn before you open your trap.
And yes, this is why we are called "The Church of JESUS
CHRIST of Latter Day Saints.
WE believe Jesus is the Only Begotten Son of the Living God.
The "Mormon" chruch is not assoicated with Mr. Jeffs or his Anthemia Excommunicated organization and we do not support Polygamy.

I suggest that there are hundreds of thousands of weird perverts in this world - and we'll never stamp them out because society is too lenient with them. They should all be burned alive, in public - I'm sure that some at Sky would buy the rights to that one - and I'm sure that millions would watch!

I superb Christians as quickly as I see them choose different persons and dismiss different ideals. To me, love and tolerance are the cornerstones of the Christian faith. as quickly as I see some Christians diverge from this direction, I have not got any project attempting to deliver them lower back.

Mormonism isn't Christianity. It just looks like it from the outside. Christians in the Biblical sense don't practice polygamy since there are straightforward prohibitions in the New Testament.
Don't go around blaming Jesus Christ for those who claim to be working for Him.
