Well, yes, it is. The point of reading the Bible is to apply the teachings it gives to our lives. If anyone rejects this part and expands that part, they are creating a god in their image.
A true Christian is subject to the will of God. God's design isn't meant to be taken as just a suggestion.

I'm not a polygamist and I believe strongly in monogamy. But I say anything that you do that effects your whole over all life is a lifestyle choice. I mean being a polygamist isn't something you just do and be like ok, well I'm off to work now after you kiss all 3 or how many wives. Polygamy is a whole lifestyle decision, because you just can't say you aren't one anymore, you have like so many wives and kids now. Not something you can just turn off. Thats why I always tell ppl think before you make any decision it effects your whole life not only part of it.

The LDS Church does not practice plural marriage any longer.
The only thing in the Bible that limits polygamy is the instruction that certain church leaders should have one wife. Even that could be debated. Does it mean only one or at least one? The Patriarchs of the Old Testament had multiple wives. The practice of monogamy was the Roman family system. When Christianity become the official religion, monogamy was adopted.

Mormons are not polygamists. Fundamentalist Mormons are.
The LDS church actually banned the practice in 1890.

Polygamy is completely hypocitical, no matter what the circumstances are. Using faith (of whatever sort) to justify bad behaviour is a poor excuse that few of us see through.
