Yes, I'm a cat lover.

I have one cat named Sweetie. I found her - I was doing the laundry and I heard a big MEOW and there she was - on the first floor of my apartment building, huddled next to the apartment door. I picked her up - her first reaction was to hiss, but after that it was all purrs. She is a tortoise shell street cat, but when I found her she was only 2 months old.

Sweetie is great company since I live alone. You know that cats are great friends - and I feel less lonely since I have her.

I also love all cats and I make a point of feeding street cats every day - I always have dry food with me to give to them. When I say I love all cats - I mean all of them - it doesn't matter to me whether they are beautiful or not and also the handicapped ones as well - sometimes, I see a cat with only one good eye or something has happened to his tail (no tail, or half cut off).

So here's to all the cats and cat lovers and don't let anyone tell you that cats are not good or not lovable - It just isn't true and we know the truth.

Have one, a moggy, named Banbi (comes from "bandit", I've been told - he already knew his name, so I decided I could live with it, although I don't particularly like it). He is wonderful - clever, nice, strong, understanding, will stop doing things he knows will displease me... He's dark tabby and white (or rather, white and tabby, as there is more white than tabby on him). Large, quite large (after a few days with him, I started wondering how can other cats stay so small LOL )
(Could have said he's European Shorthair - he fits the descriptions pretty nicely, but to pretend he's pedigree would be untrue).

He is also an all-indoors, neutered, NON-declawed cat (I tend to clip his nails when I think of it, just to protect my hands when we're playing with toys - he does not scratch on purpose). I am very glad I have him; I've moved out from my mother's in the beginning of March and have been living with him only since - he'll be a year old on September 15. :))

I have one cat & got her from PetSmart, who got her from a shelter, when she was 3mo old. She's a torti and was the runt of her liter. The original plan was to get two cats with my friend who already had a lil' dog. We were gonna have Roxie, Raurie, and Riley. Well you know how plans change...now I have Raurie, my spoiled lil' psycho princess. I always imaged I'd have a beautiful Birman or Siamese mix with some exotic sounding name...but now that I've got my lil' ugly duckling I wouldn't trade her for the world. She tears apart her food dish, scratches holes in any and all plastic bags, cries at the bathroom door, goes crazy over imaginary bugs, bites my ankles, won't stay out of the closets, likes to play with the sheets as I'm trying to make the bed, lays on the keyboard, pulls cantaloupe rinds out of the garbage, and wants to snuggle at 5am...but I love her!!!!

Hi Jess...At home, I have two male cats that own me--a Bengal named Romeo (that's his photo used as my Avatar) and an Abyssinian/Tabby mix named Kieran. Both are toilet trained and perform many behaviours (what most people call tricks) for the public to educate people how cats too can benefit from training like dogs.

Away from home part time I help take care of a dozen exotic cats (e.g. Bobcats, Cougars, African Servals, Jaguarundis, Lynx', Jungle Cats and more). They all have names and also are also trained so we can better care for them medically without having to use any anesthesia as well as provide them emotional enrichment.

I have 2 Russian Blue cats. 1 named Abraxis (sp? Title to a song or album?) and the other Tiberius (after the Roman emperor-he has that kind of attitude) I adopted them after their owner died (she was really into music, hence the name of the first) The name of the second came from me. My friend asked me the name of a Roman emperor, and that was the only one I could think of. They're brothers and 7 years old.

I've had cats off and on most of my life. I think they're more loyal than (most)humans...

I have the second most wonderful cat in the world! She’s a calico. She was abandoned by some neighbors when they moved and she kind of adopted us. Her name’s Nala (after the Lion King character; little sister ended up naming the cat). We’ve had her for about 12 years, and her age shows, but she’s still very affectionate and still plays.
(To satisfy the curious, Nala is second only to Ms. Kitty, our deceased black Persian who was the most wonderful cat ever, named after the character on Gun Smoke)

I have 4 cats:

Deluted Calico named Kellie (got her from a shelter)

American ShortHair, named Momma (just a street cat)

another American Shorthair, named Daisy (daugher of Momma)

MediumHair, almost Persianlike (whitecat with blue eyes), named Frankie (named after Frank Sinatra..ole bue eyes)(son of Momma)

....I had Momma for about 3 months...then she vanished....2 months later, here she comes back, first with Frankie in her mouth, then left, and returned 15 min later with Daisy in her mouth. I just could not turn away such adorable kitties, so now, I have the 3, and they are outside. Kellie is my 100 percent indoor cat (she is 14yrs old) Momma is almost 3 years old and the kids are 1 1/2 years old.

Surely you've heard this one: A dog is a member of the family, but to a cat, you're the help. No one owns a cat. Treat it with kindness and respect and it will grace you with it's presence. Otherwise, it finds an easier sucker down the road.

I haven't been able to have a cat for a while, but I've always had Siamese. I love having conversations with them.

Hi Jess, I have a Siamese mix named Mina, and two tabby cats, Freya and Molly. They are wonderful pets, they always know when I've had a bad day and come to sit with me. I have always loved cats for their quiet grace and their sweet (usually) nature :)

I love to see questions like this, it seems like there are so many people who like to joke about hurting animals, so it's great to see people who honestly love their pets!
